Post RS beating a Monte Carlo ! Cobb Meet pics

Here are the pics of a stock RS beating a Monte Carlo. The Chevy was even modded with a "Custom" open air intake....tee hee
http://www.dallas.net/~bookmanx/my_subaru.htm

Now, if someone will kindly tell me how to put a pic directly into the message, I can put the darn things right here.

But you can see Kevin Heist's blue interior painting too !

Really? A V8 T-bird smoked me, but it was my first street race in the RS and my car had only maybe 1400mi on it. The older V8s can pull!

You smoked a V8 Tbird? In stock form, those were 2 ton cars with 200 hp=slow. An early 90's Mustang... 2.3L 4 banger with like 90 hp.

Thats a new edition Monte, I bet if you went up against a 95 with the 3.4ltr putting out 215HP the results would be a bit different

Whose phat car is that? WOW its smoking that Chevy!

Any of you asking who Kevin Heist is???

Well "I'm yo huckleberry" (Tombstone)

Yes...thats my stock RS (minus the resonator)
Thats my car smoking that 'Carlo like a joint!

And also, there was a good 100 yards before the turn.... hmmm I would had him beat by a 1/4 mile!!! too bad Matt didnt get any photos of the course after this point!

Hey if you get a chance to see my interior mods... I've done more painting than what you see. I didnt quite like what I had, so I painted even more. HA HA

I have pride in my car... I love it!!!

Wink

I dont't think the good people at AVIS or Hertz or wherever he got that car from would like us doing "on the fly" modifcations to their car... but I doubt it would have helped that car... I still would of had you Pooh

Anyone who was there.... you know, it would have been damn funny if that rock got sucked into that intake... hmmm probably would have ran a little rich though. HA HA HA

Yeah, they'd probably frown on the impromtu mods.

But, who would have told them?!?! We had the lift at Trey's. We could have stuck it up there and yanked it with no problem.

Ah well, maybe next time.

That still cracks me up everytime I think about it. The big Monte Carlo smackdown...

Adam,

Next time you Houston guys come up here, just rent cars (particularily American) Z28, Mustang etc.... Then we can take pics and proove to the world who rules!!!

And if a stock RS can't do it, we'll get Steve's Turbo (Damn that thing's loud!, it made me laugh everytime he blew by me!) and he'll smoke 'em good!

Don't some rental cars have modifications done to them to slow them down a little? I don't know who, but somebody on this board said that. Just wondering if this is true at all.

Talking

I rented a Nissan Maxima two weeks ago (while my tranny was being rebuilt) that was speed limited at 134mph - was that a rental car mod, or factory speed limiter?

Larry

PS: I was faster than an RS until I got my turbo!

I think all the Dallas guys should have come down in rental cars for our meeting tonight.

About the race. I was sitting at the finish wondering, "Is he going to slow down at all for that corner?"--just ask the flat spots on the RE92's. He slowed down a little, just enough to miss the curb(by inches). was a nice slide though.

Exclamation

Skel--- I love skidding! I figure the sooner I wear out theose RE92's, the sooner I can get some Yoko's or something wicked on my car.

I'll have to admit, I was close to off roading when I came into that corner, but I assure you I had complete control of the car.

In fact, and I'll be a man and admit it, I've lost control twice.

1st instance came when in a cloverleaf off-ramp during the first time I drove the car in the rain, and the second time was at an AutoX a month ago. I pushed the he11 out of the car, and there was nothing gentle about my steering, did a good 270 degree spin (without the E brake!)

And regarding the rental cars, I'm like the only Dallas "I" driver under 21, so I couldnt get a car.

Talk to you later.
