Well the ej22T is the 22b block. As for heads with some work you can use whatever you want. I was thinking of going with a ej22T and some new age sti heads with the avcs. As for internals the stockers are good for 15-20bs of boost with a good mangement.

As for the H6 why??? It doesnt make sense. To me at least...

well if your going to run huge power... Id get a block from cobb, axis, or I-speed.

no the ej22 is a 2.2L... make sure you get the tubo motor the n/a ej22 is a different motor. You could get a 2.0L jdm sti motor lots of fun to be had with that.

I dont have a large trudo.... just a small one but Im not looking for over 300whp. I mean how much power do you need in a daily driver? If I were to build a track car I would use a motor from one of thoes tuners.

the ej22T came in the legacy turbos in the early 90's they made around 165 stock i believe but the block is closed deck and nearly indestructable...

you'd probably be better off with the ej25T from a forester xt, bumping it's HP, getting a 22b widebody kit 22b replica wing, and some recaros...

keep in mind nobody can order 22b parts from subaru but 22b owners

the 22b is an ej20 overbored to a 2.2...

from www.22b.com
Quote:
The engine was bored out to 2.2 litres, retaining the same stroke as the stock 2.0 litre engine.
and
Quote:
STi takes the engine and bores out the normal 2 litre lump to 2.2 litres. This will allow more torque at lower revs.

ok... its been coverd before the ej22 is the 22b block. It would make no sense to overbore a ej20g or k when they already had the ej22 a 2.2 liter fully closed deck.

As for the new sti ej257 being cheeper... I dont know. I was qouted the same price for the short blocks. As for it being stronger then the ej22 blocks... we dont know yet but things are not looking good... The pros are talking about the deck itself being the weak part on the ej257, the ej22 deck is hardly a problem at any level.

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...68#post4553668

As for what heads to go with... you could pick up a set of ver7 sti heads or get some used wrx heads and get them worked over by a shop you trust.

Now like I said before If you want big power

http://cobbtuning.com/wrx/engineblock.html

http://www.axispowerracing.net/services.html (they also have used jdm sti parts, www.rallispec.com has sti parts new)

http://www.i-speed.us/products/ (crazy 2.8L block!)

I would use the EJ22T for cost and ease of use. The body parts are made aftermarket. I think Aerosims research is developing a real nice kit right now. Not sure if it's done. The wings can be found all over the place. Get the STI scoop and try to find some real 22B vents. They're larger than all of the replicas floating around. Of course the drivetrain work will cost a ton. As you can see I have thought of doing this but being a college kid and all the money is hard to get. I wish the best of luck to you.
take it easy, Micah

well im putting in an ej22t with a ludespeed stage III kit and at 10 psi ive been quoted numbers at about 260-280AWHP...daily driver at 400 hp to the crank. The block is able to hold 22psi and is supposedly good too some 750hp if done right. Im going to keep it at a good daily driver and try and run it at like 5 psi and only turn the psi up when im on the track or auto-x'ing.....

ill turn it all the way up when im street racing and using my nawz also!

ya the kit is going to be like 10 times more expensive then the engine and turbo...it took me a while to get the engine and kit so i imagine it will be a lil before i get my 22b kit..
