Is there another compartment where the passenger airbags should be????!?@?#@??????

damn I'm jealous... I like that. I mean we already get that nice little compartment above the HVAC/radio console.. having a bigger one is just sweet.

oh... and the rest of the car is sweet too!

yes it is, it's handy storage for CD's or a camera etc.

The 22's have no airbags and no ABS either..

that's the standard Nardi steering wheel, again no airbag.

As the speedo / odo were reset for miles it doesn't have any kms on it

When I bought it in 1999 it had approx 3K miles on it. It now has considerably more..

One other thing that was done at the same time was to remove the japanese speed limiter. Apparently japanese cars are speed restricted to 180kph ( approx 112 mph).

Before anyone asks I've seen an indicated 150+mph on track, a couple of times, with a little bit more to come.

I do have a few more interior shots as well as others, I'll get them scanned in and uploaded..

The interior of the car features a matt finished dash layout and specially embroidered seats. In front of the gear lever, a plaque denotes which of the initial 400 cars this particular one is.

I say initial as more than 400 were produced. A total of 426 were finally made. 3 cars are designated 000 and are owned by Colin McRae, Nicky Grist and David Lapworth, there is no number 13 and 24 cars were made for issue outside Japan. Of this 24, 16 came to the UK and were badged 22B Type UK and the other 8 went to the owners of Subaru concessions throughout the world. It is rumoured that a few of this final 8 went to private collectors, such as The Sultan of Brunei.

All 22b's were created for right handed driving correct? I wonder if anyone has tried to mod it so that you drive from the left as opposed to the right
