Default 96 WRX engine questions.

Hello, I'm currently trying to buy a vehicle that has a 96 WRX engine in it. I'm wondering if the wiring harness can be used in conjuction with an 02+ new age wrx ecu. the reason I ask is for emissions.

If not, im thinking of getting a hold of a company who flashes ecus and see if they can flash in the stock values of a 02 USDM wrx. Would that be possible?

I think the car would start and drive, probably not too well though. You also can't flash the 96wrx ecu as its too old. Good luck.

You could probably use the 02 WRX ecu but it won't plug right up. You would be better of getting a stand-alone unit.
My 2 cents, Micah
