Default Can we stop with the friggin Domestic Troll posts?

[rant]
I mean seriously, can we make a if its not subaru, dont post it rule?
I love corvettes, I even (as much as I hate to admit it) like some mustangs, and Vipers positively give me giddy chills. BUT
This is a SUBARU forum. this entire website is for subarus.
When I decide I give a flying isht what a non subaru is running (sometimes I do) I will GO TO A FRIGGIN DIFFERENT FORUM.

Posting domestics would be fine if it were not for the fact that, even if its not intentional, they are HUGE troll posts, just waiting to start a pissing match between domestics and imports. Thats not what this forum is for.

Can I get an Amen?!?!?!?!

Seriously, when I want to know what EVOs are running I'll go the THEIR site to find out, too. This forum should be about what Subarus are running, and Subarus only.

Instead of MODS handing out warning points for sarcasm and jokes. I think they should hand out points for post about domestics and other cars that have nothing to do with subies. It is in away innappropriate since this is a only SUBARU forum. Isnt it? Make another category just for other cars.

Yep, we have OT for a reason "Anything non-subaru and technical related" I believe domestics fit in that category.

J, no one is arguing that C5 'Vettes are great cars, just that talk of them doesn't belong in this forum. Hell, I would LOVE to have a Z06, but if I did, I wouldn't come to a Subaru forum to talk about it.

If I werent such a BMW head (just gotta get one to come full circle lol) I would consider the Z06 the ultimate driving machine.
But yeah we dont need to read about them here. I am in 100% agreement about the mods should be handing out points for off topic posts in non off topic forums (unless its CLOSE or a n00b mistake -ie a turbo setup question in proven power belongs in factory forced, but it shouldnt get warning points.
A "Hey look! My domestic is faster than your Subaru" post is an obvious trolling attempt and should result in one warning, banned next offense as far as I am concerned. I mean why do we cut people SO much slack?

I had an M5
understeered from the factory
front alignment was unadjustable so you couldn't fix it.
clutch would start slipping on hard shifts after about 5 hard shifts.

However, even with the slipping clutch it ran a 13.1 BONE STOCK
1.8 60ft in cold weather, good stuff.

definitely a 12 second sedan for the first two runs where the clutch doesnt turn to crap.

the z06 isn't even a bumpier ride. harder to get in and out of, no backseat, and of course the buttons inside 'look cheaper'. though they actually are easier to use, and has all the same luxury features. well, except for the LCD map thing, hehe.

Personally I like the posts about other cars. Not only does it help educate others it also brings some varity to the boards. This particular forum is not that active so the occasional post about other cars is nice.

If you don't like the posts then don't read them - just because it is NASIOC doesn't mean other cas cannot be discussed.

The thing that makes forums like this interesting is the different cars people post about.

It's too bad that you think only Subaru posts should be in here.

Your probaly the guy who will only race Subarus at the track

What a loser

Hey look - maybe you should deal with the fact that there are faster cars out there. It only becomes a so called "troll" post when responded to in that manner.

That's not true. A lot of the posts are deliberate flame bait, trying to start arguments. I don't think anyone in their right minds think that Subarus are the ultimate drag cars. Heck, even EasyStreet's WRX isn't very fast in the big picture. It is, however, damn fast for a Subaru!

That's the point, I know there are a lot of faster cars out there, but this forum isn't for talking about THEM. It's for talking about Subarus.

J, I know you've always been here, and you're welcome as far as I'm concerned, but posts about other cars don't belong in this forum, IMO.

The point is valid. If I want to read about X car, I will go to X car forum. The reason I go here is because I want to read about the Impreza, as is obviously implied by the name of this site. This is a problem on most automobile forums I visit. The best solution I have seen is to have a dedicated "other cars" forum. That way, if I desire to read about other brands I can access that particular forum.

Right, but if you knew that Al's posts were in a "Other Makes" forum or in OT, you'd go there specifically to read his posts. Right?

Read the rules, there is a forum for other car posts, it is OT. This is a Subaru board, I come here to read about Subaru's, if I wanted to read about Camaro's I would go to a Camaro board. What would happen if I posted about my car on a Camaro board? I would probably get much less of a warm reception then a camaro guy would get here.

That is certainly an igornant statement. You took the time to even capitalize "NASIOC".

Do you know what it stands for
