Ext. Warranty vs. major parts replacement
Hi - i have done a search on purchasing an extended warranty and have arrived at the following logic:
Assuming the turbo is covered under the powertrain warranty (according to subiegirl) or since my 35,000 mi. 2002 wrx was purchased in MA under the CA emissions warranty (forget who) then until 60,000 mi. the only major components i have to worry about are the clutch and a/c.
Can anyone tell me the approximate cost of clutch replacement and a/c replacement using good quality "used" (from a low-mileage wreck) parts?
and after 60,00 miles:
engine replacement? and turbo replacement? again replacement using good quality "used" (from a low-mileage wreck) parts?
i figure that if these costs are in the $1,500 dollar range then an extended warranty is probably not worth it.
