Cool O/T......Tell me, do you spend more time with your Subie? or with your girlfriend?

I know this is off topic, but I really want to know if you people spend more time playing with your car than playing with your mate.

Cars don't get jealous, but the ball and chain sure can.

Please answer these questions to see if you are a Sube "maniac".

1) Would you rather read the i-board than go see a movie with your girlfriend?

2) Do you find yourself waiting at the front door for the UPS man?? Every day?

3) Would you rather play "Gran Tourismo" than have sex?

4) "Speed Vision" is the only thing you will watch on TV.

5) You have posters of Richard Burns and Colin McRae in your bedroom.

6) Everything you wear has "555" on it. And it's blue.

7) Your girlfriend walks naked in front of you while your setting you AFC and you don't notice.

8) Your girlfriend asks you want you want for your birthday and you reply, "Toyo Proxis T-1s or SO-2 Pole Positions"

9) Your credit cards are maxed out and you're now borrowing from friends.

10) You sometimes sleep in your car because you "hear voices".

Man, with my ex, i used to get the complaint that i loved my car more than her. this was referring to my old car, mind you, the 88 rx-7. now that i have the sube, which i love even more, and i like to work on even more, maybe i should make it a point to stay single?

Well if I spent time with the car the wife knows where I am and that eventually I will return for food and beer.
If I was with a girlfriend the odds are I'd be shot if I did return home.
So I'd have to say I spend more time with the car. Unless you count long rode trips to NY. Then its kind of hard to tell since the wife is in the car with me.

I guess im one of those lucky guys where the girlfriend is also in love with the car. Most of the time when she needs to run an errand the conversation is "Hun, my car isnt running right...can I take the Subie?". I have to say no sometimes just so I can drive it myself!

But, on the other hand, when it gets real dirty she is out there in her skimpy clothes washing and waxing it....while her car sits there getting no attention.

This actually gets more interesting though. We were in Toledo Ohio once and we apparently passed a Silver 2000 RS. I was watching traffic and missed it but she sure saw it. Then for 10 miles I got to hear how she cant believe I didnt notice the oncoming Subie!! Oh oh oh, then one day she gets home from shopping, driving my Sube of course, and tells me this story. She said that she passed another blue 2000 and he didnt even notice her. She was so ticked that she nearly turned around and went after him! She was all worked up about it when she got home.....said she beeped the horn and waved and he didnt even look.

Oh wait, I forgot one. When I was in Japan I rode in a WRX. When I got home she took me outside and stood me beside my RS as she consoled it. "Its ok, Steve cheated on you but I still love you!".

Now that I think of it, maybe I need to spend more time with my car, my girlfriend is fallin off her rocker

Steve

Count me as one of those "lucky" guys too I guess. My GF [soon to be fiance , can't let this one go] not only tolerates my car addictions, she actually likes my cars. She understands that they are something I enjoy, just as she would enjoy shopping or some other activity. Telling me I couldn't work on cars is not only selfish, but also unfair. She once told me "I'm not going to tell you not to work on your cars, it would be like you telling me I couldn't go shopping." That's when I knew I had a smart one.

She loves cruising around in the Subie, and always points out other Subies if we see them. She can name different cars and even knows some of their hp ratings. We were talking one night, and she actually tells me that "I think it's so sexy when you talk car talk." Smart girl.

When we cruise around in the 240Z, she even lets me 'race' to 60mph a little just to show the little buzzing bee (Honduh) next to me that they should just shut up and quit revving. She always says "Those dumb Honda guys don't know anything about performance. If they did, they would know that your lumpy idle meant your car wasn't stock, and your 240Z only weighs 2200lbs, so what are they thinking?"

The key to "my success" is compromise. I don't spend all my time with my GF, but I don't spend all my time with my car either. Sometimes, she actually wants to help me work on my car and is eager to learn about how all the "stuff" works. She actually asked me the other day if there is a K&N Filter for her Passat 4Motion available yet. As part of the compromise, I go shopping with her occasionally, and I don't always talk "car talk". It's a thing of respect. I respect her wishes, desires and dreams, and she does the same for me.

All Subie, women are the devil. I'd go be a Shaolin Monk before I got another gf. Actually, that'd be pretty fun anyways

hey, at least your g/f's didn't move on over to the "dark side" and buy a honda...DOH...she was torn between a subaru RS, an m3, an SI and modding that heavily, an acura 3.2Tl (or was it cl...i dunno) and an IS 300...i was hoping for the scoob, the is 300 or the beamer....DOH...she went honduh....*sniffle sniffle* where is the refuge, where is it??

*serenity now...serinity now...i am a hollow reed. i am a hollow reed*

oh well, at least it's already a fast honda, first freagin month and it's already forced induction, yeah baby yeah!! too bad she lives a all the way over in Delaware...*sniffle* but i do go make an effort to get out there and she comes out here a whole lot more than i get out there, but i love her so much, she be worth it...my phone bill proves it...along with the cell bill...WHOOPS...400 a month on the cell phone...and that is with 5 cents a minute long distance and 15 cents for other incoming or local calling....but she's worth it...so i guess the answer is more time with the girl.

the scoob isn't jealous...i don't think...
