Is there a bracket that will work to fit WRX front calipers on a 96 Impreza rotor? Thanks.

Why would you want to fit WRX calipers onto a tiny L rotor?
I don't think there is anything that'll do that. |

Because I rally the car, 15" tires are what's available in rally tires, stock alloy Subaru wheels are inexpensive, and I don't have the budget to spend $1000 (or whatever) on a complete brake upgrade. But I do have 2 pot Legacy turbo and WRX calipers. The Legacy calipers will bolt on but need to be rebuilt. The WRX calipers are much newer. |

98-01 RS rotors and 97-99 legacy GT rotors fit under 15" wheels. I think Legacy turbo and Legacy GT fronts are the same?? You could swap your WRX caliper onto the Legacy bracket and get some new RS/Legacy GT rotors - 10.7inch and you are good to go.
PS Cross posting is teh no no. |

Yea, just trade your WRX brackets to a 2.5RS or Legacy GT guy who wants to upgrade his rotors.

if i recall correctly there are sets of 15" wheels which will clear wrx 4piston calipers, but only just barely.
i believe one set is the raceline rl-7? 15x7 if that works, then could'nt you use the full sized wrx setup? tony Last edited by tbd; 09-16-2003 at 04:25 AM. |

rally nut, do you have a single stage booster or dual? If it's dual change it and put on some Brembo RS size rotors with an aftermarket pad and you will be just fine. I have ridden in a 99 RS with the single stage and it stops just as well as the STi with its big Brembos.

all you need is RS rotors, calipers, and caliper brackets, then you can clear 15" wheels, you don't even need the brake booster, i have one and have never put it on the car, the brake pedal feels great with GoodRidge lines and Motul RBF600 in the lines. I use axxis ultimate pads which are IMHO pretty damn incrediblen for a street/track pad. GOod luck, but you 1.8L rotors will not match up to anything else.
Jeremy p.s.: since your car weighs about 200-300 lbs less than a GC/GM RS you won;'t have any issues stopping damn fast. as for what Puck said about stopping ass well as an STi, remember that the STi weighs in about 300-400 more then a GC RS...those brakes under and RS would be insane |
