I cant believe I forgot my questions...

OMG! ARRRRG

they will come back to me, give a minute or two....

oh ok, #1 the bracket that attaches to the intake, where does it bolt to the motor?

the stud for the bracket is close to the throttle body right?

I could use some pics if thats possible

Im trying to turn a 99 JC Sports intake into a 98...but I need to move the stud for the bracket and add a fitting for the IAC hose.

grrr I wish I could find someone selling one already!

Yes, the stud is just behind the #4 head (or whatever one is on the passenger side, towards the rear of the car). And it's on the "top" surface of the area.

Click here for an ImageStation photo album of mine

And I know the filter is set up wrong in those pics, it has long since been corrected.

Unfortunately, I can't get specific pics, as I have yet to enter the digital age in photography. I spend too much on the car.

Hope this helps.

AJ

Stupid imagestation and their no linking thingy.

If any other questions come up, just ask. I'll be getting the car ready for Auto-x tomorrow, so it may be a while (again) till I answer.

Strange. Do you think the engines for the MY98 and MY99-01 are that different that the bolts aren't in the same places (like in this case). I know they're different when it comes to cams and a few other things, but physical make-up?

I dunno either, I'd need to have one infront of me to figure it out. Could you fabricate something out of steel/Al bars from Home Depot or something? I'm sure there are places to bend/attach metal bars to in order to provide extra stiffness.

I have to do something to mine, it's been squeeking/making a weird noise. Mainly if/when the AC is on. Just another weekend project to put on the list.

The SOHC motors leave a ton of room to work with.

as you know cause you have a 98 the clearance from side to side with the DOHC, is pretty tight.

Im sure I could fab something I just dont have the time

i have one... are you talking about where it attaches to the throtle body? They gave me all the wrong bolts and 2 brackets, but i only used one...stil have the other if you need it. I can take a pic if you need that as well.

Mine doesnt bolt to the motor but instead to the upper right leg of the abs set-up. You can have it but you need to find your own longer bolts to go into the MAF

Hey, Don, if you have a pic of the bracket that would be cool, On the 99 intake I have there is stud welded right behind the maf sensor, im wondering if I can bolt the bracket you have to that?

I might be down at ninos this saturday to pic up some parts, and do some fab work on the intake.
