Default car won't start, dip stick indicate no oil.

This morning my car doesn't start, dash board has a repeated clicking sound, lights comes on fine, no engine sound at all. I checked the dip stick, no oil level, it's like the dip stick is dry. I poured 1.5 bottle of castro engine oil in, check the dip stick, the level is above full?! Start engine again, no luck, holding on to the key at start position, kept starting, it finally cranked and go, then I check engine oil again, it's all black.

Now I think I need to change engine oil, but, how come the engine oil light doesn't come on to warn me that engine oil is low and needs to be changed? what could be the problem?

The oil warning light is for oil pressure, not level. The light will only come on when the oil pressure is dangerously low, just a few PSI. If you ever see that light while driving pull over and stop the engine immediately.
If 1.5 qt. of oil brought your oil level to well above full then you weren't that low on oil to begin with.
Your starting problem sounds like it may be a weak battery, bad starter, or poor battery/ground connections.

Default changed

Ok, I changed the engine oil now, starting just fine, but only started the car 3 times, the first time right after engine oil changed, the start seemed sluggish, like it cranked 1 or 2 times then start, I'll try again in the morning see if it starts smoothly.

It has nothing to do with your oil. Your battery is probably getting old.

I try to check my oil at least once a week. I have two cars that are over 10 years old, however, so this is a habit and necessity for me...

Yeah, it still doesn't start... it's not the oil. Eventhough the lights and all the electrical stuff seems to look bright and no dimmering, I'm thinking it could be the starter...

Is it a manual? If so, pop-start it. If it starts and runs good, then it's either the battery or starter, and nothing else...

Default yup... and thankyou all.

Well, yesterday my dome light starts to look dim, and this morning when I jump started my car, the jump start went smoothly, and culprit is the battery! Brought it to the dealer have it replaced under warranty. Heard another person with the same situation with the battery same year car. what's up with that? any thanks all for the help.

It's more than likely a nearly dead battery. The clicking you hear are the relays for various pieces of equipment in the car latching and dropping out due to low voltage.

I already changed the battery in my MY02 earlier this year. Sad to say, the OEM battery is crap and it's under powered. I dropped in a $40 battery from BJs Wholesale and it starts like a champ.
