Post Subarus sound different with catback?

I though I have read that the 2.5 engine sounds deeper/better than most other 4 bangers? Is this true and why ? Any sound clips?
Thanks,
John

I dont have any sound clips yet but I have an exhaust cutout on my RS and it definitely sounds different from any other 4 cylinder with straight pipes Ive ever heard, something about the boxer style engines.

yea, they sound WAY diff than a Hon-duh or nissan. cuz they are flat 4s...boxer engines. if u uncork them, they pretty much sound like a porsche. these are the only 2 cars w/ this style engine. and, ive got a wav. file called rxsound2.wav, i pulled it off one of these threads, but it was from a few days ago.

the RS is alot deeper opend up than anything else... relatively speaking.
