I got my K&N filter and RS mats from them. Took them about 2 weeks or so, but they got here. As for asking them for a discount for slow delivery - I wouldn't. They ship fast, although they receive parts slowly. So, it must've taken them a while just to get your K&N filter, but they shipped it via 2nd day Air, I bet. Personally, I'm willing to pay less and recieve it later rather than pay more and recieve sooner.

Guys, what you should do is call Scott and ask him over the phone if he has parts in stock. Then make a decision on how you want it to be shipped. They have just implememnted a new Internet ordering system and it isn't working at it's full potential. Scoot is the only one taking orders and shipping stuff. Sometimes he even ships stuff out after work at his off time. Scott has THE best prices on ALL STi peices and he can also get almost ANY STi or JDM OEM parts dirt cheap. I have delt with him 100+ times and he is absolutely THE man to talk to if you need anything Subaru OEM or STi.

They have been swamped lately. If you must talk to them call 1-253-473-6200 and ask for parts. Then ask for Scott.

His #800 number 877-473-6200 is always on the answering machine for the last month.

or email him at parts@wa.net

I'm glad someone else brought this up. I've been waiting for almost three weeks for something that was supposedly in stock at the time I placed the order. I've sent them three emails about it with no response so far. A phone call is next, but an email should be good enough. I guess they're too easy to ignore.
Come on, Scott. You've got a nice site with great prices. We all know you're only a one or two man operation, but if you can't keep up with the demand, either hire some help or close down your site.
I placed my single-item order just to test out how it was handled, since there have been others with complaints (and praise also, to be fair) about their SubaruParts.com orders. Unfortunately, my first experience hasn't been good at all. It's a shame because there's a lot of other stuff there I wanted to buy. I'm sure there are others who feel the same way.
You owe it to your customers to be honest about product availability and shipments that may be delayed. We can handle it.

Will you guys cut it out? I started using Subaruparts.com months ago, and before they got popular I could get OEM parts at unbelievable prices ("How much is that? No, I don't want one, I want 4 of them. That is the price for all 4? Including shipping?")

The customer service was superb, I had no complaints, all was well. Then you guys had to go and swamp Scott with your trivial orders. Now he has (last time we spoke) a 2000+ e-mail backlog and they are desperately looking for qualified personell to help them out.

I think it is a problem of them getting too much business. Probably never expected to have this many customers so quickly.

Here is an idea... I'll use Subaruparts.com for parts in months not ending in 'E', and the rest of you get to use them in months ending in 'L'. Sound fair?

Really, thier prices have been a life saver. Screw the wait. Lots more money for mods now.

Cool

I've ordered from Scott and it pays to order by phone. That's how I did it and it came no problems. Pick up the phone instead of doing it over the net.

Well I am sorry guys.
I ordered something from subaruparts.com on saturday over the net.
I got it just now.
I never emailed them. Nor did I even pick up the phone.
It came safe and sound. Installed as soon as I got them. They get my thumbs way way up and I will be ordering my 4 pot Brakes from them too.

I've always had great response on everything; well, except email. But when I would call, Scott could always give me an update. Sounds like they have more business than they have staff. Going pains!

in a word (or two) the problem is order logistics. I'm suprised that Scott is still the only person working the internet orders over there, it's been obvious for quite some time that they need more people...

Well like I said earlier I dont get it. I used the online order form and my guess is it was processed on monday, shipped on tuesday, and got here on friday. I had no problem. I think Imprezer hit it on the head when he said it must have been availability of parts. Some parts are on backorder, hard to obtain, etc. Your best bet would be to call I guess and find out if the parts are available for immediate shipment.
But I think I am the king of patience tho

Question

This is what's confusing me. How can some people get great, fast service regardless of when, what, or how they order, and some people seem like they're being ignored? If SubaruParts.com is really that backlogged, how can some people get their stuff in a week? That does not make sense at all.

Nick, you're the king of patience? So why is Efrain selling a set of 16x7 Advan RG?

I have bought from subaruparts.com several times and had good experiences, but if you get no response try Troncalli Subaru (Lisa posts here in the vendor forum as "sugar"), Pam at ISR (WRXGirl), or Darlene at Quality Subaru (qsubaru@aol.com).

They are all awesome and our aftermarket is growing more than fast enough to support them all.

SubaruParts.com is awesome! Yes they do take a while sometimes, I tested the waters with rear spats and had them in less than 2 weeks standard shipping (they had them in stock). However, I ordered v5 struts + 20mm sway bar and it took a little over a month, but the parts had to come back from japan.

The prices are really worth the wait, considering I got my v5 struts for $285+shipping when some vendors selling them for about $500.

You really have to know what your ordering though, I'm not naive enough to think I'll get tech support from scott, if you need that kind of service you have to pay for it, so go to rallispec. I'm currently having reservations about ordering springs from them too because I'm not 100% sure they are the right ones, but I'm probably going to give it a shot anyways.

Overall, Scott's great, the customer service just shows that they are too busy. When scott does get around to answering emails they are always helpful, and courteous. I think the comment of "answer us or shut the site down" is very unwarranted and inappropriate. This resource has saved me over $1000 in parts and I will continue to support and use them.

I tried just getting a quote on a couple maintenance items (air & oil filters) but several days later I still haven't gotten a response. I noticed that the majority of parts shown on the website were noted to be on backorder - this makes me doubt the ability of subaruparts.com to fill orders. I haven't checked their prices against other vendors but subaruparts.com would have to be much cheaper to make the wait worth it - that is if they can supply the parts at all.

Well, I finally cancelled my order today via email. Maybe they'll respond to that. I am going to order it from somewhere that can get it out in a timely fashion even if it costs more money.

I've only placed one order with them (K&N filter), and got it in a fairly timely manner. No complaints so far, though I won't say (as of yet) that they're spectacular (then again, I've only placed one order, so )

Well I've ordered from Scott numerous times... and I've got nothing but good things to say about him. They are swamped though. I think they just grew a little faster then they expected. They are trying to keep up with everything I'm sure... but just be patient.

They are still one of the best places to get parts from... provided they are in stock.

To all those complaining about unanswered e-mails....try picking up the phone. Awhile back Scott said he was getting over 1000 e-mails per day, that sounds like a pretty overwhelming amount to me. I have placed several orders from subarupart.com, all phone orders, all arrived quickly. Remember, there is a real world outside these little boxes called computers.

I agree with Opie, too!

In theory, on-line ordering should be faster than order by telephone. However, it seems as if Scott has created more demand than he can handle. Consequently, ordering by phone and getting his full, individual attention may actually work better than ordering over the net.

You have a right to complain, but will complaining fix your problem(s)? I doubt it. So, pick up the phone, give Scott a call (he's got an 800 number), and see if he can accommodate your request(s).

I did not complain at all.

My exact email was very civil. All I said was I wish to cancel my order in more than that many words. I did not complain at all nor was I rude in the letter.
