I think you'll find that many if not most of us use the Purolator L14460, or the Pure One version where available. Purolator actually makes the OEM filters for Subaru so this is the closest you can get to OEM without buying them from the dealer.

I would stay away from fram.

IMO porly made. Have had issues with their anti-drain back valves...

Stick with the OEM/Purolator.

I suggest that you use Subaru OEM filters only.

Fram filters suck. I always get the one from the dealer and the crush washer for the plug.

i used to use only subaru filters, but i can get good prices on Fram filters now from my freinds autoparts store so I use fram now. There is a quality difference definatly.

I change my oil ever 3k miles

I have only heard very bad things about Fram, I use Quaker State, made by Purolater, same thing as OEM, just with a different label. I get them super discounted from STS.

FWIW I have actually never had an issue with any Fram filter on any Japanese car.....always have worked out very well for us.

Used them on my ZX for the longest time, though with the new motor, switched to Wix on advise of my engine builder

I use Fram's on my '02 WRX every time...of course, the fact that I get them free is my primary reason. If I was paying for them, I'd get something else.

For the 20k miles with the jdm swap I never used a base-model fram, though, I always bought more expensive filters, but if I was to do it over again, I would have just used my free orange Frams and called it good.

Wix is Good! NAPPA is Good (made by Wix )

FRAM is total GARBAGE! After i been demonstrated difference between FRAM and NAPPA GOLD i would not put FRAM filter in lawnmore (If i had one).

Stick with quality stuff if you care.
