Wink New STi in UK Autoexpress

"In contrast to the stock WRX's 215bhp, the STi packs 276bhp and torque is up by 20Nm to 373Nm at 4,000rpm. And the torque curve is now much fuller, especially between 3,200rpm and 4,800rpm. At 3,800rpm, peak torque is yours for the taking. That is the most effective point for third gear when you're on the move and primed for overtaking.

Contributing to this highly flexible power delivery is a more efficient turbo with better breathing and a 50 per cent larger intercooler with an enlarged water spray tank. Although the car has put on more than 100kg because of the six-speed transmission and reinforced crashworthiness, it will still cover 0-60mph in 5.3 seconds."

Worth waiting for (that's IF it ever makes it here) ???

How much more expensive is the STI model supposed to be? I had hoped it would be faster than 5.3 seconds, they got 5.7 out of the UK 218hp WRX.

Unhappy

They reckon it's going to be 30k pounds Sterling, whereas the WRX is around 22k.
