Thumbs up U.S. MY02 Impreza Model Codes

I'm on a waiting list of the new WRX at a dealership in PA. As a result, they are sending me updates about the new WRX as they get them. I just got this today. It is the confirmed list of available U.S. models.

ENJOY!

Wow. Looks like I'm eating crow: we're getting a WRX wagon.

On another thought, I'm getting increasingly pissed to see the 2.5 becoming the base engine -- now in the Impreza line too!! One of the things that made my car stand out when I bought it was the fact it had a larger, more powerful engine, thus the designation 2.5 GT. Same for the 2.5 RS. Dammit! Now the base Impreza, complete with hubcaps will be able to completely out motor us (RSs and GTs both) stock-for-stock!

But, we're getting a WRX wagon!

The WRX wagon was also confirmed in the new Automobile magazine. I think it will be awesome.

Thumbs up

If any of the new Subarus at all (my RS is "good" for another 3 years...), the WRX wagon 5 speed would be the way to go.
Or a Focus R on A-plan....
Beat me..

Ptooie! Ptooie! <Sound of black feathers being spit out&gt Ptoooie!

Dare I make another prediction on the upcoming cars?

What the heck:
[*]Price on the Rex will be right at $26K[*]The RS will look just like the Rex. Only difference will be the badging and the plugged hoodscoop. Figure same price as now, plus maybe a grand, tops.[*]The TS?? Wild guess is that it too will look like the Rex Wagon. But, hmmmm, there is no *base* model here. Changing my guess to be just a basic Wagon. With a freakin' 2.5l engine! [/list]That's it from Swami Eric.

Question

How much ???????

That's the real question. A $27,000 WRX is a little different than a $23,000 WRX. Also, it will be interesting to see what the price of the RS will be, will it be lowered or will it have different equipment.

Maybe the RS will lose the scoop? That would be weird, but it would also be weird to have NO non-scooped base model. I suppose they could have the TS wagon as their only true base model. I hope the OBS keeps the scoop--I really like the Outback's upgrade to 2.5, for virtually the same fuel economy as the 2.2.
