Default Boxer Powered Subaru 360

I'm in the early planning stages of this build but I plan to get it done. Any help would be appreciated.

The Plan:

Stuff a ej2.5 in the back seat area of a 1970 subaru 360. Attach that to a shortened wrx transmission or 2 wheel drive 5 speed from the earlier years. Mount impreza or BRZ knuckles at all four corners so I can slow the beast down and connect these bits an pcs with a custom frame or subframes. The goal is 1100 lbs. Mount all this under one of my Extra 360 bodies. Widen the fenders to cover the tires and enjoy.

What I have
360 body x 3 require too much rust repair to restore.

ej 2.5 SOHC currently turning over less harness, oil pan, oil pick up, ecu, flywheel, clutch, timing belt and one stripped out timing belt idler pulley

ej 2.0 Wrx in a box missing exhaust manifold, up pipe, coil packs, flywheel, clutch, two valves bent.

wrx 5 speed

Older 2 wd 5 speed trans

Impreza knuckles for 3 corners need front left knuckle and caliper.

steering rack but need steering column

Need help with:

Wiring

which ej to use

How much power the old 2 wd 5 speed will take?

The smallest diameter wheel that will fit over 2003 wrx caliper

I'll be updating and revising this list as the build goes.

Use the 2.5, it will be plenty of power in something that light. Sell the EJ20 to help fund the build.

Doesn't fit. Not as in doesn't bolt in obviously. Physically an EJ engine is too wide to fit within the body and even a shortened transmission will hang 2 feet out the back of the car.

I had a 360 and an EJ engine and trans in the garage and measured it all up. There is no way it can be done.

It's been done with a 4G63 and the entire wheel and tire is outside the body of the car.

In the front there is just no space at all for anything bigger.

Maybe if you built a tube chassis car and didn't care if the wheels tires and transmission were outside the body of the car you could do it. But there is just no way to package an EJ engine with transmission and suspension inside the confines of a stock 360 body.

Tube chassis with the 360 body on it, done. Sure, it will basically be a silhouette car, but it would work

Hell, I saw a Fiat 500 with an EJ in it.....
