Default how long do you plan to keep your Subaru??

I just got a MY04 WRX and a 5 year plan to pay it off, so I have to keep it for at least 5 years or something like that. Now I plan to keep it for even longer than that (10 years?). Hopefully it will run as good as it does now.

Ok, how about you guys? how long do you plan to keep yours? I know most of you seens to trade them in or sell them a few years after you get them. Perhaps you get bored of it or something went wrong with it.

I truly think that the WRX will last for at least 10 years without major repairs if I don't race it or beat on it with care.

well when i got my MY00 RS i was going to keep it till it died...then they announced the WRX was coming...so in April of 01 i tried to get one but my payments were to high..i could afford them but didnt want to give up my 190 a month payment...and then in June of 02 i paid off my RS and then my job situation turned for the worse...and i put buying the WRX on hold...so now it looks like im back to keeping my RS till one of us dies...but maybe sometime down the road i will get a used MY03 WRX...along with the RS

Talking

'til death do us part.

Seriously, I plan to keep the wagon for at least another 3-4 years. I've had it ~2.5 years now. I expect it to run pretty much trouble free for at least 5 more years and I'll probably get the itch for a new hot rod Legacy pretty bad before then. If the tranny takes a crap before then I'll probably look at the awd offerings from Audi or possibly the rumored Infiniti.

I plan to keep mine as long as I possibly can. Once my EJ25 has racked up a considerable amount of mileage, I'll just replace it with an EJ20.

i'm on the 5 year plan as well for my 04, i'll probably keep it till i'm out of grad school and working, so like 4 more years, then i'll hopefully be making some good money, and have most of my college loans paid off, then its time for an STI , or a turbo legacy, if kids are in the near future then

I have a '93 legacy that just turned 217,000 miles. The wrx should beat that (time and distance)...

Take care of 'em and they will go and go and go.....

If I can keep the WRX when I get the EVO, then I will say till it gives all it can. But for me that's about 5 years when I want what is out hot and new at the time. Also if in a few years they make over the WRX and throw in some more hp say 275hp, then I will trade her in. But till that day comes I will enjoy her to the fullest.

I plan to keep my RS for some time (did trade in a 02 RS)

My dream scenario would be picking up some sort of high-revving, 6-speed RWD car in a few years and then I will drop in a EJ20 in my RS. I would have an awesome car combo

well...dream on...more realistically I would probably replace my RS with the next generation WRX (due out 07 or so?).

My long-term plan is that once it starts to crap out, strip it and make it a track car. The whole one seat, zero interior, roll cage and fire-breathing chariot of evil thing.

There's no reason why I won't keep on buying Subarus for as long as their philosophy remains what it is now. I second the old RS thing too, that was what I originally wanted but couldn't afford. It would be nice to have one someday to sit beside my Rex...

I like my RS too much to want to part with it. Plus, my last payment is in January

Plus, I have a 14 year old who thinks that it will be his in a couple of years.

All in all, I'll most likely keep it 'til it dies....

until fixing it costs more than the payment on a new one (with in reason of course). Hopefully, that will be around 7 years.

99RS owner here

I have had my car for.....oh gosh....over 4 years. I must admit, when the WRX came out I wanted one real bad. Of course I can't afford it being a college kid. Now with the STi out I want one more than ever. What makes matters even worse is that a kid at my school has one and it drives me nuts every time I see it. To add another nail in the coffin, my friend drives an EVo and I am in it all the time.

Regardless, I love my RS. Seriously I will never part with this thing. I will run the engine till it dies and then get another engine. It will become my little race car that will out handle even the big boys and please my adrenaline glands everytime I take a turn at ridiculous speed

Subarus rule...stay loyal to your car and trust me it will stay loyal to you
