Post For those of you with squeaks and rattle in your RS.

I had squeaks and rattles in my MY01 RS for a long time. Reasons for your cars' rattles can be this:

SYMPTOM:
Every little or big bump I hit, the car rattles and squeaks from the dash area. Also, anything that may cause the car to vibrate (sudden accelaration, bumps etc) caused the car to squeak and rattle.

I finally snapped, and went to the dealer to have it looked at. They fixed w/i one hour.

CAUSE:
Some wires by the transmission were touching and rubbing the body, thus causing the rattle. They cable-tied the wires tightly, trimmed it, and no more squeaks and rattles. I was a happy man today.

Another thing I found, the stock head unit is just a little bit to small for the cavity, hence that little trim plate around it. I got an aftermarket deck installed, and the squeaking went away.

The squeks are from the rear deck rubbing against the rear window. stuff some solid flexible material betweent the two, and it will either reduce it signiigantly or kill it totally. I have pics and install dirctions for those interested.
