Donít get discouraged Iím sure its just a couple little problems. Iím curious did you replace the sparkplugs before you put the engine in? Could be as simple as a bad sparkplug.

Good luck if you got the wiring job taken care of I know you can do this!

Can't wait for pics...

Plugs still possible with the EJ20? I forgot that they install at 90 degrees to the head, instead of at an angle.

Your car looks awesome though.

Hi, I'm still having troubles with my A/C not working as well as my tach. Is yours? The temp unit is off in mine too due to the different resistance in the new and old units (they aren't compatible). also you probably won't know this but is your speed sensor working?
Take it easy, micah
the temp sensor is just different resistance so I'm bolting in an aftermarket gauge.
Don't get down on yourself. Just think of what it'll be like when you're done.

Micah, did you retain your mechanical speed sensor or did you convert it to electronic?

Hey man the wiring job looks great totally profeshÖI guess you have to go through the pain-in-the-ass of taking the motor out, but hey at least you donít have to go re-do the wiring. You never know you might get a engine with lower miles on it. Nice wiring job, the loom make it look factory.

:Thumbs Up:

Don't worry too much about the temp sensor. Mine pegs the top temp as soon as the car turns on but have tested the actual temp with a laser temp gun and it is running at about 180-185-ish(after driving for a while).
Take it easy, Micah

Did you paint the Subaru stars on the intercooler or is that something else(dirt, water)?
How much time do you have left on your 90 day warranty? I'm assuming it's from time of purchase and not install.
So how hard are the spark plugs to get to? I was looking at mine and it looks pretty tight. I hope I don't have to pull the engine to change plugs.

Oh and your BOV is going to destroy the insulation under your hood. Even if you point it to the side.

I made a stencil..and painted it on the I/C....looks OK>..it should have been better...

about 1.5 monthes left....which I am good to go...

They are pretty much a pain....You will definately need a good swival for your socket rachet....the coil packs are a pain to get to also...

You forgot to ground one of the wires on the stock engine pig tail. The brown connector that you disconnected from the stock engine, you have to ground out the black/red wire. There are 4 thick ground wires on the bottom row of the connector. This ground is for the fuel gauge and coolant temp gauge.

On a side note, have you had the timing belt removed or changed ? Sounds like the cam timing is off.
