This topic has been covered many times before, but I will help you. I mounted mine differently from the rest of the other people, but I feel it is a bullet proof mount. I'll E-mail some pics of my car and the mount which is machined out of aluminum. It took me about 5 hours to remove my front end, mount the brackets and then reassemble the car. This dosen't include the time to wire them, so be prepared to spend so time and be creative. Also, you might want to check out Jamies site at www.subiegal.com She has four Hellas mounted and used a much simpilar mount.

Hey, Tom. If you're sure they fit, how do I get a set of those brackets?

Here's a pic of them on my 98RS. I chopped out the lower half of my bumper beam (different from 99-on). Drilled 2 holes for mounting in the upper half of the beam. Wired to the stock fog light wiring. Works good, Adam

EDIT: Trying to get pic up

That's great; I'm glad you are able to put something together for these lights. Let me know when it's ready.

I didn't want to start a new topic, so I'll bring up this one,

I tried to install my hella 500s yesterday but to no avail. I got the interior switch goin, no prob. I hear the relay making hte clicking noises, but the lights won't go on. We desperately need a detailed install. I wired it a couple ways but the lights will not go on. I'm really stuck. I used also the diagram from Susquehanna...

Someone please help.

You didn't wire it into the stock foglight switch did you? Your driving lights should be on with your highbeams and off with your regular headlights, exactly the opposite way your fogs are wired. Just follow the instructions from Susq MS and mount the supplied switch to the dash and use the 12v power wire to your highbeams as the signal to your relay. This will make the dash switch the master on/off and then your lights will only come on with the highbeams and you can switch them off fast too when traffic comes around the bend by using the highbeam stalk rather than fumbling for a switch on the dash.

The install has been covered in some detail, if you do a search I'm sure you'll find it.

The switch that was supplied from Hella with my 500 kit was bad. Drove me crazy looking for a mistake. Finally changed the switch and there was LIGHT!!

As for getting fed up with "Do a search" all I can say is that you're not asking anything new, this has ALL been discussed before. I found these two threads in the Archives for the old General and Technical forums that are pretty useful:
http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/Arch...15-003017.html http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/Arch...15-003915.html

The one I couldn't find was one I posted about finally finding the right wire to tap for the highbeam signal. IIRC it had a green stripe on it but the easy way to find it is to pull the left headlight wiring harness and use a multimeter to find which lead goes from 0 to 12+ volts when the highbeams are switched on.

Also I didn't think about the supplied switch being bad. I never used mine, I just went with a $0.99 switch from Radio Shack that didn't look so gaudy and mounted it to a blank switch location on the dash next to the old foglight switch.

Hope this helps.

Tony

MORE OPTIONS!

The company digital camera is in Hawaii right now or I would post a picture close up pictures. I mounted my 500's using an L piece of aluminum mounted to the flat plastic behind the front license plate. I drilled numerous holes and used those screws that have the sleeve that expands (like an anchor bolt). This was solid but would rattle over bumps so I attached a small plastic covered cable to the lower center bolt. Here is a picture from a rally-x so you can get the ides. Best thing is if you want to remove is the license plate covers all the wholes (except the one in the license plate for the cable to go through)

Tried to get the picture to post. No Luck. Try this link.

Go to page 3 (there are lots of nice Sube pictures on all pages) 2nd picture is my OBS with the Hellas.
