Question Idle Air Controller

So what does this little hose do that has the power to stall the car when not hooked to the air box?

I found that out one night.. I drove home without it on and the AT oil light was flashing that I threw a code..

The idle air control soleniod valve regulates the amount of intake air which bypasses the throttle valve built into the throttle body. The hose was either from the IACS to the air assist injector soleniod valve or the hose from the AAISV to the air assist injector, basicly the by-pass hoses.

I did not know it slipped off.. I was checking the Air Filter and I pulled the top part of the airbox up too high and it just popped off.
