My windows are always dirty. I clean it with a plain clean rag but maybe a day later the inside gets dirty again. My friends say it looks like a smoker drives it but I don't and usually no one else is in the car with me. It's not so bad during the day but at night it distracts me a lot. What do you use to clean your windows?

Do you mean like they look all fogged up? If so I got that too, but I dunno what it is.

All the interior plastic is outgassing.
This will continue for weeks to months so you'll just have to get used to it. Use a little ammonia and water and some crumpled up newspaper to clean it with. A DashMat or putting a towel on the dashboard will help. |

Anyone try that RainX antifog stuff? I was thinking of giving that a try.
My mom's Mazda has the same problem and it's probably 5 years old now. Figure it's some brand of Japanese glass... So this dirty/fog thing wears off? |

Mine hasn't done it too much after the initial cleaning, but it does do it, just very slowly. I don't wonder if keeping all this dust on my dash stops it from happening... LOL

I have a 2.5 year old Mustang Cobra (I know, I know, it's not a Subaru, but I'm hoping to get a WRX if the horsepower is right), and the windows still "fog up" on the inside. I think that if you use a lot of Armor All or any other cleaning products like it, they have a tendency to slowly vaporize and coat the inside of the windows. Very annoying, particularly at night when oncoming car headlights light up the haze. I've started carrying an old t-shirt (clean, of course) in the car to wipe the insides of the windows when they get too foggy.

8 LOL,
You obviously have the 1/4" layer of dust on the dashboard option also. Who needs faux carbon fiber when I have real geniune dust? I actually wrote my name in it on the Pass side Airbag cover when my wife was driving last week. We've owned the car 11 months and aside fron cleaning the windows, we have never cleaned the interior. I think I have changed the oil as often as I have washed the exterior. LOL Tim |

You could try speeding up the outgassing by keeping it parked in the sun with the windows slightly open. Initially the fog will be worse but it should get better after a while.

boxerman - Oh yeah, at LEAST 1/4" deep, if not more. I wash mine more then you do, though, but just because of the pure fact of where/how I drive. Scoobnuts in the lots I do them in sprays up tar onto the car, which doesn't really do well with the soft-nature of this paint (have a mark in my clear coat on my driver's side rear fender that I think was caused by it - no clue how to get it out).
Oh, but I've never cleaned the interior other then the windows... maybe someday before the new year... LOL |

Philrb: Describe your method. I had a friend try to explain how this helps but he didn't get it across quite right.

Stop having sex in your car. That should delay the haze for a while.

I gave up trying to clean my windows. no matter what I use and how long I try to clean them, those damn foggy spots/streaks or what have you are still there. On a good angle, you can see them clearly. I just had my windshield replaced and you can tell the difference between it and the rest. Sucks seeing the car like it is.
Here's the funny thing though I clean it the first time look at it and smaile "yeah, I did a good job". Then I view it from another angle and "Crap!". I clean it again and "Oh yeah, difinitely this time'. Then I view it from an angle and "Dammit". And I do this on every window on the car inside and out everytime I wash my car, which is about once a week. Wax about every 3 weeks.Fustrated ARGH!!! The[1]one |

This happens to my dad too since he thinks armor all is the miracle protector for interiors. When you spray it on the dash, no matter how old the car is, itll get on your windows and fog it and then when you wipe it off your window, ur just spreading it. Later you will see itkeep fogging and constantly wiping to get it out, but i dont know anything to get it out.

Is there something special you need to clean the tinted glass with? I'm talking about the film applied on the inside - to tint the windows.

Nononononono! I have the solution. Anytime your in the car... ok, now this is the important part... don't breathe. No matter what, make sure not to breathe. Then everything will be ok. Well, at least until you pass out, crash, and die. But no more fogged windows.

This happened to me, but after sending my car to get the windows tinted, it stopped. Don't know if those guys cleaned it in some special way as to prevent it or if it's the result of the surface now being the tint itself instead of the glass. It used to piss me off.

If it is moisture fog then turn on your a/c an dit goes away. If it is the smokers fog type then it will go away after a while. It stopped doing it in mine after it was 5 monthes old.
