Unhappy {sigh} weather change

I've always disliked this time of the year because it always seems like a sudden transition from summertime weather to chilly fall "sun sets before dinner's done" even though it isn't really that way. Every year, right after Labor Day, it seems like there's a burst of warm, sunny days and mild nights, then a day or two of rain, and after that fall weather takes over completely.

This is how it happened this year: Saturday afternoon my sister had a big crowd of people at her place for dinner, which ended around 7. As people were leaving we were all talking about how great the weather was, and a few people stayed longer and sat outside with us for about an hour. After that I went to see the Underworld moobie, and when I left the theater it was still warm enough that I didn't need my jacket.

Sunday at 4pm I went to a local pub to watch teh Giants play, and as I walked there the sun was so bright I debated going back home for my sunglasses. When I left the bar at 7:30, I was shocked that it was almost fully dark and cool enough that I regretted wearing shorts.

Last night during our D&D session, somebody asked about the time. When I told him it was 7:30 he said "really? man, it feels more like 9. Guess it's because it's fully dark already."

There was cold rain coming down when people left at 10, it rained pretty much all night, poured during my drive to work, and will rain all day. Right now it's darker than when I woke up. The rain is supposed to taper off this afternoon and the clouds will break up overnight, but even so weather.com says daily high temps will hover at 70 and overnights will get down to 45.

I know we can't have fun things like football, holidays, and perfect reasons to stay inside and play games on weekends, but those aren't a fair exchange for the sun not rising until after I leave for work in the morning, and setting before I get home in the afternoon.

Unhappy

I kinda feel the same way today.

I hate that it's dark by 7:30. I feel tired earlier b/c I feel like it's much later.

About 1/2 hour ago it looked like it was 3am outside, black and pouring rain.

Days like these make me so lazy and I have a whole list of crap to do. Kinda bums me out. No more picking vacation days to hit the beach.

The only good thing about fall is that the leaves change colors and it makes for a great drive up north jersey into the mountains.

I love fall! No more summer heat and humidity, great cool clear crisp days perfect for hiking, ... what's not to like?

I do hate dst though.

There's another reason for me to be depressed/anxious: next Friday is the end of my employer's fiscal third quarter. We had ZERO sales in the third quarter. I'm the primary sales driver.

The longest I've been at any one job is just under 1 yr 4 months; on October 13 (my 28th birthday) my time here will equal that mark.

I don't think I'm gonna make it, and foresee an indefinite unpaid vacation as my "big" birthday gift.
