Well, we seem to have a celebrity in our Legacy group here. Check the November issue of Grassroots Motorsports, page 24. There's an article there about a big Solo 2 series in Canada. They talk about how last year's champion is leading halfway through the series, and they list the guys in second and third place by name. Joe Trinidad in his 2000 Legacy GT was running third at that point. Wow... very cool!!
How's the season going at this point, Joe? They gave an internet site in the article, but I'm here at work and have to keep these 'excursions' short and quick. Just wanted to let everyone know. Rich

Wow!! I didn't realize that my name made it in the magazine. For quite some time, we were really close in the points race.
For those that don't know, the way the selection is done regarding overall placements is quite interesting. Consistency is rewarded and awarded the most number of points. So, to place in the top 5 out of 183, you'll need to win your class. In my case it was CSP and you'll have to backup your fastest time with a run that's as close to the fastest without beating it, or at least be really close. The percentage difference between the fastest run and the backup run's becomes the factor that affects the position. So at the end of the season, I ended up in 4th overall out of 183 regional series competitors. Not too shabby, had I known about the backup runs earlier on, it would have been different. Thanks for the props. The entire team did really well this year, just a little history. We created an association to promote performance driving, and called it SPDA (Subaru Performance Driving Association), our web site is http://www.spda-online.ca we're sponsored by Marino's and various others, and they supply us with tires and entry fees. In 4 - 5 Classes that we run in, we have 4 podium finishes, so it's been a really good inaugural year. The funny thing is, the Winners of BSP and CSP were all Tuned by Yoshio of Japanese Auto, coincidence? Thanks again. |
