Exclamation Auto-x Last one of the season! Long Island. wanna meet there?

Last one for the PCA (which is the only good ones here) I would like to have a big turnout there. Normally no one from the board goes, but it would be really cool if we could kick some ass on the last auto-x for the season. It is Nov 12th at Tobay Beach. http://www.metronypca.org/
even if you dont race it would be a cool place to have a meet. If you guys are intersted, I can try and get clubsi to come?? That would be cool. give me some Ideas

Good luck Keith!! If I wasn't committed(sp? Crappolla --> I need to get a spell checker for this thing... ) to go to the WSCC event, I'd go to the PCA event: Every PCA autox I've been to has been run better than almost all the other clubs. And not only am I a PCA member, but I'm also a client.

Hey fellas...

Maybe a stupid question: but does anyone know why auto-x's are always on Sundays? Do they ever occur on Saturdays?

Grr, too many papers to grade this weekend! & the car isn't in great shape itself anyway... too bad it's the last of the season.

Maybe if you guys have a meet sometime this winter I'll drive down from upstate to see y'all & to see Lou's new motor/tranny.

Keith,
totally funny man... my folks actually have an Excursion which would be even funnier on the auto-x. i had to drive that thing/beast once to drop my parents at the airport and the visability(or lack there of) in it is terribly scary. i'd run over all the cones and lots of other things/ppl.
Garrick, sorry to hear you won't be there but you're right... we all should meet up. maybe at some auto-x or rally-x between L.I. and you. all ppl in the area could go.
see you all there!

Get there early, they are kinda strict about that. yo garrick, I have a quick fix for those papers that you have to grade..... give them a BIG F! ALL of them will make the work a lot easier
Lou, I remember parking in front of your parents truck..I could have pulled my car into that thing! its huge!!!
Mike, check the directions on the page, they are pretty good I think.
Since ur comming from west, take the medowbrook south until u cant go anymore, and catch Ocean Parkway east. you will see a sign for Tobay beach. If not, follow the first 911 or boxter that u see
See u pplz there

Hey, if anybody sees Dave Brown there, can you ask him if he'll still replace my juddering clutch if I'm past the 1yr/12k mi wear `n tear warranty by a few hundred miles? Tell him I didn't wanna bring the car to the local dealers here & I was gonna wait til I could bring it to Metric.

thanks

NYRS,
come on down. there's really nothing to it. make sure you come early so you can sign up...what keith said is right they are strict about promptness. as for racin...man you can't beat it! for like 30 bux(something like that) you get ~6 laps to drive your car as fun and crazy as you legally can. and the crazier you drive, the more ppl cheer. you learn as you go like everyone else and we'll be there to give help and advice as you need it. plus its cool to see a suby contingent of a handful, in the middle of all these Porches(it's sponsored by the Porche Club). its like: who let those greasers in...this is a socias(sp?) party. seriously though those Porche guys are pretty nice and helpful too, and if you get hurt or are in an accident you'll be surrounded by doctors and lawyers..

Saw the invitation on Rennlist, I will try to make it out with my 911 as I have yet to autox that car and the wife would prefer I use that than the family car (the RS). I don't think I will have any problem getting the tail to come around. If I make you will definately see me. I will be the only bright green old 911 there, I am sure. I will of course be on the lookout for the Subaru contingent.

From Jones, go east past the pencil onto Ocean Parkway. Tobay I believe is a Babylon town beach, you should see a sign for it. I can't remember if its past or before the OBI.

Tim

Come to think of it, I don't think my 911 will pass tech, since both my battery tie downs are busted, I will try to fix Saturday.

AHAHAHAH Lou pretty much hit the nail on the head if you want to race though here are some things you should have/do
1: Need a helmet. They have loaners, so you dont NEED to buy one, but its nice to have your own. If you dont have one, use a loaner, just bring some kinda hat or something to wear under the helmet.
2: Clean your car and trunk out. They dont allow you to have loose stuff in the trunk or car. U dont have to go nuts, but just try and have it neat
3: Pump up the pressure on your tires! I run around 40-45 psi all around.
4: Bring some food or something...its a long day. but fun as hell! you might want to bring a seat also, its nice to have ur own seat.
5: Bring a Camcorder!!!! I want to tape it and Idont have one (ok you dont have to bring one)

6: drive like a nut, try and spin out, and beat your car like a little pain in the ass kid!

Like Lou said, there is not much to it, its just alot of fun
