that driver must've sucked. car for car u get wasted stock to stock let alone a modded GSR.

0-60 GSR -----> 7.1
0-60 RS -----> 7.8

1/4 mile GSR--> 15.6
1/4 mile RS --> 15.9

I'm always 3 or 4 cars ahead up to 100 but GSR's pass me after 100...

I raced my friend's gsr a bunch of times stock vs stock. Lost every time just by like 1/4-1/2 a car length. They're pretty close.

The GS-R is quite difficult to drive fast because of it's too-small 1.8L engine in a too-heavy 2700-2800lb body. Launching is difficult because of its low-torque and heavy body, and even if you're willing to roast the clutch, you still have to worry about getting too much or too little wheelspin. If the GS-R boy isn't ready for you, you'll toast him. Try starting a race at 45mph with him in 2nd gear and the table will probably turn.

Comparing my 240SX (2.4L 155hp 2850lb) to my GS-R (1.8L 170hp 2800lb), the 240SX always felt faster off the line, cruising around the city, and on the highway. Only on the on-ramps and passing lanes do I get to downshift 2 gears and really feel the power output of the GS-R's engine.

I agree, it's all in the driver.

Mercury - The reason the 240SX felt faster off the line is because you have better low end compared to the GSR. The GSR's are pretty gutless until they hit the VTEC range, which is 4400RPM on a GSR. On a good run, longer than light to light, the top-end of the GSR can best the 240SX. Plus, the 240SX is RWD so you have that advantage as well off the line.

With the Dual Cam VTEC motors in 1.6 or 1.8 trim you really dont start pulling on the opponent until VTEC in 3rd gear and above, they have a notorious high end powerband.

I still miss VTEC, but i can live without it

The GSR should smoke the RS everytime, so yes it is the driver, and also the launch (which obviously the RS has an advantage).

good job!

You should race a good driver and see how much you lose by. With equal drivers a GSR will pull on a RS HARD in a 1/4 mile. The first 1/8th will be close though.
