Default anyone want a EJ22T long block?

It needs a refresher, I dont have any time to do it. It is out of my (now sold) 1991 legacy turbo. It has 165K on it. I bought the seal kit for the rebuild, but still have not started it.

All you get it the kit, long block and the intake manifold, no turbo, x-member, or exhaust.

Let me know, I also has a 3:90 and 4:11 open diff to sell, along with random other parts from the project!

thanks,
mike

what crank and cam sprockets does it use? is it like the old RS's or completley different?(in terms of number of teeth). I am looking to possibly build up a motor but people have said these are already great from factory, what boost levels could i run after the rebuild is done? also what exactly does the seal kit do?
would the EJ25 headers fit on the ej22? i have a ludespeed kit on my car so thats why i am wondering if it would still fit up.

thanks, sorry for all the questions, i am not too familiar with the EJ22 motor so any other info you could include would be great.

i highly doubt i can do it but what are you looking to get for it?

Ben

Hey Ben,

It shouldn't matter what cam sprockets are installed. You'll need to take apart the engine to refresh it anyway, while everything is off, just transfer your heads and sprockets to this engine, and your Autronic SMC will treat it the same. You'll need to adjust your fuel and timing maps though, not to mention boost levels.

Enjoy

Hey Joe, thanks
all things considered which route do you think is better, the STi short block, or the EJ22T engine? I do like the idea of keeping the higher displacement, but people do seem to love these engines and they are hard to find. i just wanted to maybe have this as an option cause they dont come around too often, this is still a while off that i would even be able to do this and i havent even enjoyed my current setup really but want to keep my options open.
thanks

Ben

the EJ22T is a closed deck block 2.2L SOHC design with hydrolic lifters. It is safe to about 20PSi (as far as my friend has gone without engine mgmt, but i hear it is being used in some drag engines (the USX easy street car) at higher boost.

the seal kit is all the seals that the engine uses to keep the oil inside the engine, rear main seal, cam seals, exhaust gaskets, etc.

yes all headers bolt up, from NA to WRX.

I am looking to get $200 for the motor, and $200 for the seal kit.

the engine is leaking oil out the front and rear main seals, it needs that done, but little else.
