Default shout out to all you 2.5gt owners

Hello to all the legacy 2.5gt owners. I was wondering if any of you could give me a review of the sport shift automatic transmition? It is suposed to be the best of both worlds, the ease of driving with an automatic and when you want to push it into high gear you can swith to sport shift mode and have most of the benifits of a manual transmition? anyone care to share their experiance with it?

Thank You,

Ben

I test drove one - it was as slow and sloppy as the standard 4eat in my GT wagon.

Slow to shift, if felt like manually shifting the regular 4EAT.

The gate looks good though... and VDC.

BajaNut the MY03 GT's have it here in Canada.. not too bad, slow shifting yes (compared to manual). Looks good though!

VDC works very well in winter!

Thanks all,

The thing that I really want to know is how is it compaired to the normal 4at. does it shif the same is that or is it better? is there any performance gain with the sportshift? or is it more hype than anything else. I am looking at getting a BAJA turbo, when it finally comes out, with the sport shift or just get a 2003 baja and get the ausome discount.

had it in a 300M that we had, i hated it. when you would shift is was very jerky. i was doing like 40 let off the gas for 2 seconds upshifted and slamed the gas, after it finally kicked in the car made a big jump. i hated it.

my friend has it in his 97 lude and its nice and soft.

just depends on the car.

but i have never been in a subie with it

To clarify what I said earlier....

The sport shift felt like a fancy way to manually shift the auto in my 2000 GT wagon.

Transmission was still slow and sluggish, Like my 4EAT

Get the 5 Speed
