Question Any weird problems with the Website?

Hey everyone... just wanted to know if anyone was having any trouble with website. Any spelling mistakes, strange errors, anything at all?

If you have post them here. I'm trying to track down all the little problems so I can take care of them all this weekend.

The only one problem that I am completely aware of has to do with PMs. If you have to many PMs in your boxes it will throw an error the first time you log in, but it will work once you log back in after the error.

I was having some problems with not being able to see new posts once they had come up, but I monkeyd around with my browser and it seems to be ok now.

Other then the loss of chat... great job

Well, some people misspell WEIRD in their subject lines.

Other than that... some spelling errors in the FAQ, that's about it.

EDIT NickCat: I see no mispelling... hehe.. ahh the power of admin!

Netscape 6 renders the PM display odd (like it is shifted a TD over), but there is nothing you can do about that as it works fine in every other brower.

Other then that, everything seems fine.

I sent you a e-mail on this, maybe you didn't get it or can't fix it. But.. if you go to the members section, log in, and then add modification. WITHOUT anything selected push the delete button, and you'll get an error.

Well I reset my preferences, and now I no longer have new posts showing up as unread. The forum title screen doesn't show if any forums have new posts are there either.

Hey I never claimed I could spell... that's why I installed the spell check option on the post... unfortunately it doesn't check subjects!

Anyway... as far as the mods section in the members list... that's going to be radically different as soon as I get around to it. Basically the old method is going out the window... mods will only be able to be added from what's in the product database. However people who own that particular mod will be able to post a review for others to see about whatever they have installed. So should be a lot more functional, and help get rid of all the crap entries in the mods section of the members list. We just had to many people who think that things like tint are a mod... nay nay... it's a visual mod sure... but who cares... that's why you are able to post pics of your car.

I've been getting HTML on PMs. It may be because I am viewing them on a Mac.

Hmmm... AOL might have a problem because it might be caching an old version of the page. Can you take a screenshot and send me exactly what you are getting for an error.

Well let me first say, I'm on a Mac running Netscape 4.5 fed by cable... Yeah I know it's dated material, but I like it and it still works, everything is set up the way I like. It's been stable for ever(the computer has not been shut off since Thanksgiving weekend, why leave it running when I'm not here for three days?)...

But, sometimes I open a thread and it will load all the messages, and display them. Except it will keep loading, although it's not pulling anything in, and when I get to the bottom of the string there is nothing there. It shows the last post, then a blank screen and I can scroll down for another few hundred character lines worth.

Then, and I'd imagine this is Netscrap, I go to reply and it gives me the window to enter my reply, but the little flashing line thingy of a cursor isn't there, I highlight some text and there is no highlight-color even though it selects that text. I can get the cursor and highlight back by clicking out of the window and back in... Just odd.

And lastly my hands tend to get cold when I'm sitting here on the Iclub and doing work...

Thanks
-Silas

WRX PILOT - Your problem is clearly either AOL's browser or that you're passing through their proxy since they tend to censor stuff (I don't know why they'd censor this though). Just stick to using your normal browser (or @Home as you call it).

Jon Bogert - No problems at my house and I have @Home as well. Maybe your area's DNS server has been having troubles? I know mine does occasionally (as well as the *@&#^* mail server always being down).

I think that there is a problem with impreza-rs.com's DNS....

I am having to replace impreza-rs with i-club to get anything to work.

(I'm even downloading the post reply form and editing it so I can still post!)

This prob only happen's with the iClub site. AOL say's it's a prob with the site. I cleared my cache, that didn't help. So I don't know what is going on. I have noticed that there are not any AOL user's posting that they are not having a problem here or on my post in the general forum?

Heh.... I was going to say DNS Errors too, but it seems that is being workedout. Until then, I did the 'ol:

216.242.153.3 www.impreza-rs.com

in -winroot-/system32/drivers/etc/hosts

Thx guys... Glad it's you and not my boss trying to block me from the site!

You are forgiven my son......just don't let it happen again or you are fired

Seriously though, why would it only happen on AOL and not my Internet Explorer?

ok, few things.

Thank you RandyF, its been a long time since I have had to deal with hosts files, but I was hitting myself trying to remember how to resolve domains locally, because I KNEW there was a way (my co-worker thought I was going nuts)

To the web-masters..... PLEASE use local refrences, not full URLs for graphics, and links. If you try to go through www.i-club.com, without domain resolution for www.impreza-rs.com, you will see what I mean.....
