2004 ForesterXT Auto

Default I tried to wait for the Baja Turbo.

I tried to wait for the Baja Turbo.

I really tried.

I test drove the '03 Baja for the general feel and test drove the Forester XT to see what the engine would be like. That was in August. Then I waited. And waited.

Then I read the IIHS and fed. crash test results for the Forester and Legacy models. Forester best ever in class. Legacy also-ran.

Then I looked at the Baja again. Cabin a bit tight. Looked at the Forester again. Cabin roomy.

Baja Turbo delayed. Not September. Probably not October. Maybe not before 2004.

License fees going up October 1. Wish I could compare side by side.

Pick up Silver Forester XT, Premium Package- Auto, Leather, Sunroof tonight.

I hear you, jimqpublic. One of my friends got Jeep instead of Baja Turbo. That's what happens when Subaru screws with the market. I sware, they NEVER learn.

Congrats on your new Forester!! You did pick an awesome vehicle and clearly a front runner in its class. Seems to me that you made an informed and intelligent choice - and one that you will be happy with.

I love my Baja but it does have it's drawbacks - I do find myself wishing for a bit more clearance when I get into the front seat. It would be painful if I had a bad back - I watch my father-in-law struggle when he gets in.

But, last night, I loaded a changing table/dresser combo and a large dresser and crib into the back of my Baja and delivered it to my son's house for my new grandson. Easy to load and took just a few bengee cords attached to the tie down points to secure the load. It's times like this when I LOVE the Baja.

Again, congrats on your decision. The Forester is a great choice. Enjoy and stop in and give us an update now and then!!
