Sorry to brake it to you but there will no longer be a 2 door. At least for the time being. Who knows in five years they may bring another 2 door out.

if you think about it, there are a whole handfull of great selling (albeit overseas) 4 door road rockers.

the M3, skyline, and lancer to name a few.

All things considered the fact that the new WRX is a 4slammer, just may open a few more doors for the rapidly growing brand.

What good is a sports car if you cant show your friends what it can do.....especially with them comfortably strapped into the back seats

Call me selfish, but I will never buy a car for the people who sit behind me. Two doors forever!

That being said, I have a K20 Suburban too...

Nobody in their right mind tries to mod a 4dr Skyline. For starters they are just too damn ugly. With the exception of the one that was in GT2. Second is that they are very rare to see. Nobody is willing to pay more cash just to get a backseat that they are going to rip out in favor of a rollcage.

Many of the most prestigous sports cars on the planet are 4 doors. Bently turbo, the M5, and why not mod a 4 door skyline?

is it all of a sudden un-cool to play?

one very popular engine swap has been a transplant of the ford 5.0 into a volvo..........just cause it can fit your kids doesnt mean that its worthless.

Umm... Some people actually use their cars as means of transportation, too. It may come as a surprise to some of you that not everyone wants to rip out their back seats and put a rollcage in...

Just look at it this way the Subaru rally cars in 95-97 were 4dr. Lots of people mod 4drs. I think some cars look better in 4drs. But I don't think you can consider it a sports car if it has 4drs IMHO. But a sports car is a very unique bread IMHO.

Not to dis on the WRX guys...but I just bought my 01 R.S. a month ago...and I was scrambleing to find a 2 door in the old body style before it was gone forever. I was lucky enough to find one even with factory leather interior. IMO this body style looks alot meaner and really seems more "sports car" than the new body style does. the new one just seems to much like a maxima or some other family car....look at like volvo or somthing...they have been making fast family cars for years.

On the volvo thing....

they still havent made an equivalent to the BMW 3 series and their attempt with the S70 sedan fell really far short of the mark. I have driven most production (US) sport sedans (test drive something new almost every weekend) volvo has missed the handling and funfactor by a gap larger than that of madonas front teeth. It was soggy, and seemed to be bothered when asked to get tossed into a corner.

I understand your point, but i think that BMW may have been a more apt example of fast safe cars.

Anyone notice how clunky and loose the 2-door Impreza's are compaired to a 4-door?
For that reason alone I'd rather get the 4-door.

Besides, Im tired of the 2-door = Sportscar american stereotype! ARG!

Well, when it comes down to it, europe can see a 4 door car as a sports car. Americans have a problem with that. LOL

Gee haven't we had this "If you like coupes you are a dumb American" conversation before. I don't go around calling people who like 4-door cars or hatchbacks names. I would appreciate a little respect for my preferences.

I have a MY2K Coupe. I like the lines better than the sedan. I also have an Audi A6 Quattro because I like the lines. They are called opinions folks. Calling me a dumb American is not going to change that opinion.

A R32 GTS is a great car? Maybe a GTS-T a GTS-4 or a GTR but not a regular Skyline. Yah you're right not everyone rips out the backseat for a rollcage but that is what gets done here in Japan. Sorry but the 4dr GTR is just way too rare. Sure people use their cars as transportation. But at more then $6 a gallon for good gas the odds are they ride the train to work during the week or have a second car for that. There are alot of fast 4dr and 5dr cars where I am. I'm just not a fan of most of the ones available in the US.

I love the fact that it's a four door! I can't wait to stick my 2 year old daughter's car seat back there...hehe.
