Default how to remove rear deck

I am putting in 6x9 in my STi's rear deck.. has anyone removed it before and care to tell me how to remove it?

I did a search, but came up with nothing.

Thanks,

Mikhal

To get the rear deck off, you need to remove the back seat entirely, then take off the 3rd brake light (2 bolts on the underside), then there are 3 retaining plugs on the front side (part that touches the back seat), Pull those out and you can yank it out.

Good luck fitting em back there. There aren't any big holes and part of the deck isn't exactly flat.

Would you happen to know where the bolts for the rear seat backrest are?

Thanks!

Ok this is the procedure on my 02 WRX but it should be the same or very similar.

You have to take the bottom part of the back seat off first, there are two 12mm on the back part of the foot well. Just follow the front of the back seat down. Then the bottom part really just slides off.

There will be two more under where the bottom is holding the seat back on. Take those out, and make sure the pull out isn't latched in place, then the seat back slides up and off. There is a little bar that slides into a notch when you re assemble it.
