Default loud clicking noise and window doesn't roll up

title says it all when trying to roll my drivers side window up today, it got about 1/3 of the way up and stopped, all i hear is a clicking noise. i can push it with my hand & it goes all the way up but i do feel 3 notches(1/3, 1/2, 2/3 of way up) as i roll it up. also, when rolling it down the auto window down button doesn't release itself & it clicks like mad till i pull up on the button

sounds like a stripped gear to me, or something is stuck in the gears my problem is not being able to see the gears. looks like a real pain to pull the whole door apart. anyone had this happen to them or know how to take the door apart? i have the interior part off already, right now the window is sandwiched between 2 chunks of metal, any clues on how to get a closer look at them gears???

i'd like to do this myself rather than paying

this sounds kind of like what happened with my 90 mazda mx-6. I hit the door really hard during an install and it broke the piece that held the window to bring it up and down so the broken piece would travel up the track but it would leave the window as soon as there was enough room in the door for it to slide off. sorry but you have to pull the inside door panel off, I haven't had to do this to my rs but it wasnt *too* hard to do w/the mx-6. The part was a white plastic piece, i'm guessing it'll be close to the same... just put the window all the way down and you should be able to see it (hopefully). If that's it you can just buy the piece and you'll be set, otherwise good luck, having a broken window track sucks ass
