Would you be willing to use a product you're not sure about while doing 120 miles an hour at Willow Spring putting your life at risk when you know that the previous one was working fine? and who would it be responsible in case of an accident? ACT? RSD?
I'm sorry but I don't think you care whether I have an accident or not, you're there to sell parts.
As every Subaru owner here, we take extra care of our cars, therefore the person I use to work on my car is perfectly capable to assess any problems, more so since if I have an accident there's no car to work on.
As I said I have no complaints about the efficiency selling the parts.
It is outstanding.

Mano,

I called ACT and they should have contacted him.

As for care about safety, we race our cars as hard as anyone else. So we know how important safety is!
We would not sell faulty products, as that is a safety issues. We have dropped companies before, for poor quality. And have denied companies that wanted us to carry there products just to keep people away from buying poor parts. If you look on my site you will not see a single part that is a rip off from another design! This is because we believe that quality is more important then quantity.
As for ACT, the product is SFI rated. So its up to the highest standard for safety and racing standards.

And as I stated earlier, the flywheel is going back to you with the exact same pilot bearing (Part Number) in it, pressed in. Just to show you that the item is up to par for quality.

If your mechanic can not get a pilot bearing to fit, it might be that he had a wrong one in his hand from another car. Or is incapable of working on Subarus as I have seen in person many people who think they car, fail with great amounts of problems afterwards.

We are here to provide you with the best customer support before and after purchase. However some things are just out of our hands. As we recommend to have ALL the parts we sell, installed by a Subaru Specialty shop that has experience working on these cars.

Recently I had to get a new drivetrain (originally I purchased Stage 2 Drivetrain Package from CobbTuning) for my Suby since going to the racetrack every month takes its toll, so I contacted RallySport Direct and in a very friendly manner they helped me to get the parts. One of them was ACT 02-05 WRX StreetLite Flywheel. Everything arrived on time (no complaints about it) and I took everything to my trustworthy mechanic. He started putting everything together until he came across that flywheel. It seems the pilot bearing was going thru, it wouldn't stay in place which made him think either it's faulty or they sent the wrong one so he decided to use the old one and send back the new one.
Now to make it short, in a back and forth discussion with RSD and talking also with ACT, they decided to send it back to me claiming there's nothing wrong with it.
Why do I have to take their word when I clearly saw that pilot bearing wasn't fitting in that flywheel???
Is ACT trying to prove their products are "perfect"???
Also the RSD representative told me earlier that in a conversation with ACT they told him they found similar issues in the past and after a week...it's "perfect"??
Needless to say, RSD is not responsible which means I the customer have to swallow the product.

For a company like RSD, $250 the cost of the flywheel,it's nothing but for a regular customer it's a large amount of money.

So much for:
"We do our best to keep you, the customer happy."
They actually did their best to keep me pissed.
Sounds like you need to find a mechanic that know what the **** he is doing.

Good experience with RallySport Direct here. Bought a set of Prodrive P1s from them a couple weeks ago. Got confirmation # and UPS Quantum view tracking very quickly. Arrived cross country within a week even though it was between Christmas and New Years.

Good experience on the Uncle Scotty Cocktail kit a couple months ago, very quick shipping and turn around. I just ordered something else from RSD today because of that. I like getting my tracking numbers within 24 hours and I usually do with this place.

I ordered my Cobb catback and exhaust hangers from them on Friday. It turns out they were out of the Cobb hangers. RSD called me on my cellphone to inform me of that and to change the order for me to other hangers they had in stock. I also ordered it at 4:45pm, and had my tracking number at 5:30pm.

Amazing. Will be doing business with them from now on.

Placed a order for a open box gauge pod they had on the site. After they opened the next day got a email saying they have sold it and asked if I wanted to order a new one. Not a huge deal but you think if they sell a one off item they would take it off the site. Not a huge deal but I would call ahead to make sure its in stock. After I recived the email I took a look at the site and it was gone. Will not bother to order with them in the future.

We do apologize for the inconvenience. However we have to manually add and remove items off the site. So if a person places a order at 10pm, and you place a order at 10:30 for the same item. We are not able to remove the item off the site in that time period, as one off items like that are sold we take them off the site right after we possess the order.

Again we do apologize, and hope to earn back your business.

Default 25% restocking fee?

rallysport is the biggest rippoff i've ever seen. The sent me kartboy endlinks for my front sway bar on a 2003 wrx. The endlinks did not fit and, when i sent them back brand new, never used, they said it would be a 15% restocking fee. On top of that, they said the bolts looked used from where i tried to install the links (never could), so they upped it to 25% restocking fee on something that i never installed and sent back to them in the original box. I guess i should consider myself lucky they're going to refund my money at all.
dont buy from these guys unless you're positive that you are getting what you order, and dont mind a 25% restocking fee.

shame on them for stealing people's hard earned money.

kjcst20 - I apologize if you have some frustrations with our company, I wish that we could have hammered this out over the phone, but there seems to be some pretty major miscommunication here. We did receive your return today but there is a problem with the returned parts. What you have sent back to us is NOT a brand new, never used product. The EndLinks themselves look perfectly fine, but there is a issue with the hardware itself.

As you can see the hardware you supplied looks to be like your factory hardware. This is not acceptable as a return by any means as why to the 25% restocking fee. (We need to purchase new hardware from Kartboy.) We need this hardware to make this a full EndLink Set. I'm not sure what happened in sending the items back, I assume that the wrong hardware was accidentally placed in the box.

If you can give me or one of the guys here a call we will be happy to try work this out with you. When you have a chance please email me or call when you are available.

The guys at RSD continue to amaze me.

What a solid, classy response.

They could have easily ignored kjcst20's complaint, or blown him off. After all, he was bad mouthing them and complaining about something that was (at least partially) his fault. I would like to know why the parts provided by RSD did not fit though.

The world would be a lot better place if all companies treated their customers this way.

I believe the customer ordered the incorrect item off our web site.
With that being said, if it is the customers fault. Its ok, mistakes happen. Its just that we need to get the same items back, that we send out. And we will issue a refund. If we dont get the items in the same way we send them out. We are not able to refund them in full.
All we did, was charge him the amount that it would cost us to get the items he did not include replaced.

nothing but great things to say about RSD. i ordered what was supposed to be front rotors, due to an part number error on their site i recieved rears. i called up and spoke to tanner, he was super nice and awesome about it. he emailed me a ups shipping label and is in the process of getting me the correct ones.

EVEN WHEN THERE IS A PROBLEM RSD IS AMAZING TO DEAL WITH.
