Post ATTN: Toronto Club Members

Hey Guys,

I've had some concerns emailed to me about the board, so here's the skinny.

Unfortunately, it looks like our BBS software is pooched. So currently, I'm trying to put together a permanent solution. Please bare with us as we sort out the problem, I hope to have it resolved by the end of the week.

Cheers,

James

I really think the toronto board should be gone.. and form to a board for ALL CANADAIAN.. The Toronto is too lame.. full of kids.. racer boyz.. we need mature guyz like existing in this board! I don't like the idea of Toronto Subaru Club.. I like Canadian Subaru Club.. include those Vancouver guyz..

Forget the "Canadian Subaru Club" idea....heck let's just go straight to "The Subaru Club of Earth"!!
hehehe

Seriously though... The i-Club does represent Canada as well. I still think it's a good idea to have regional clubs such as Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, etc... It makes for a tighter community all across the land..(insert "Glory Glory Halleluiah" song here)
Perhaps it would be more prudent to suggest the "Ontario Subaru Owners Club" (although that may be pointless since most of the scooby enthusiasts are from the GTA anyway...)

As far as the Toronto msg board goes...James has got some tricks up his sleeve, and I'm sure whatever shows up online will be a class act all the way. (can it be just a wee bit faster though? hehehe)

Imprezer and Nick has been gracious enough to give us our own Canada Form as well as the Vancouver Forum. Why don't you TO guyz use it? It works, it's stable and everyone knows where it is!

LaterZ!
Darren!!

ps to Imprezer and Nick -- thanx guyz for hosting our forums!

The reason the TO board stands separate, is because we were around long before the I-Club. That being said, there is nothing wrong with the I-Club, but since the Toronto Club is a very tight-knit organization, we tend to like our privacy, and independence.

Now, Andy (Raptor), I'm not sure where your attitude is coming from lately, (bashing the club, bashing those that don't like the WRX because it is ugly and then saying they don't like it because they can't afford it?). You've never even BEEN to a meet as far as I know. How the hell would you know how people are in the club.

Sorry to fly off the handle, but your offending me and my FRIENDS in the club by what you say.

And how often do you think a Canadian club will even set up meets? Do you think a canadian club will set up 2 track days, 1 rally school, a darknights showing, and a monthly meet every month?

Sorry, but the club is far more than an internet message forum.

I TOTALLY agree with James!

Here in Montreal, we have our own Club as well, and find it better this way. We are all active members of the i-club as well, but our main focus is on our regional club. We even set up a Quebec City Club.

Some of us in Montreal including me have been part of some activities given by the TO Club, and found it to be very organized and the members very friendly and mature.

Let's keep up the good work.

Cheers
Jan

PS. When is the big Canadian meet????? How about we all meet in Montreal! hahahaha

Yes, I agree with James. We don't need bashers and I have certainly not seen you at a Toronto meet. The Toronto Club is unique cause we can get tips from each other and have the local board to discuss issues.

Yes.. I did went to the meeting.. unfortunately, I have been ignored by the members.. I think people notice me.. coz I was the only guy having a RED RS in the parking lots.. I also talked to a old guy in there.. (not uncle Chan) although I first visited him in his shop.. also got some stuff from him.. but not a very good experience.. too.. maybe I am not kind of racing guy so.. BUT bottom line.. I do love to mod my car.. like you guys and I LOVE SUBARU, and the Toronto Raptors.. hehe.. See ya..

I think the Toronto board is great!!!!!!!!!
I purchased MY00 in sept and got great info
before and after. I have found places to buy things around GTA and bought stuff off guys in the club. All the guys I met were great!
Just the local info you get is worth the board! i-club is great but it is sometime to crowded.I like the more personal feel of the T.O. group. 1st MOD coupe wing on MY00 sedan got the same colour and everything from jaimak
Thanks James for all your work!!!!!!!!

If you need anything to get the board going just ask, I would support even if it is only with some cash, maybe we can have a special club charge where you pay and then get special events

Raptor,
"I have been ignored by the members" Please don't say so. I remember my first meet, I didn't talk much & didn't know people around me. I didn't get upset because I know it's up to my effort to know people. Actually it took me several meets to get familiar with people in the club. Come to the meet, we share the same passion!

The Toronto club has lost its roots. It's not what it used to be. The guys that run it are great and I truely apprecite thier efforts, but there is too much babbling going on. It would be nice if there was a Toronto forum in the i-club,

Thanks Colman and Spencer.

Granted, the message board was a bit too slow...(James is on the job for that one..) Once that's fixed, I can see the club regaining the momentum that it lost in months gone by...

Colman and Spencer have done a fantastic job in getting the club to where it is now...but let's not forget the other committee members that have contributed so much time and effort...

James, Gordon H., and of course John F.
Being a committee member myself, I can assure you that it is on our agenda to elevate the club's status in the Toronto Import scene (and of course to have some fun) Stay tuned...

Attention All Canucks!!!

We're having a Western Canada meet in Kelowna, BC on July 21-22 weekend. It will likely be mostly the AB and BC folks (since there are only 6 MB and SK members).

Your all invited

Cheers,
MB

Jan,
Can we still meet up when I'm in Montreal during Grand Prix?

Hey Hucker's back! where have you been you old dawg?!

Oh I remembered those type-r vs. rs days. And I remembered I had a "heated discussion" with this guy about V5 bumpers. hahahaha... oh man. That can't be too long ago was it?

rommel : maybe it's the time of day you are using dude. If your office has a lot of ppl using hte network at that time then it will go slow right? I do admit the Toronto board is sluggish. Prolly running on some vintage 286s... with windows 3.1 or something.
