Kind of a similar situation when I lived in California. I had a 95 Jetta, and the registration they gave me was for the right VIN, but it said it was an 87 Sentra. Then when I moved to Ohio and registered it there, they got the year and Jetta part right, but had the wrong VIN. Guess what VIN? For an 87 Sentra. Talk about a pain when I traded in the Jetta for my RS. Whooo.

talking about type-o.
DMV made a mistake of registering my car as a 4 door instead of a 2 door

Check this out... I didn't know (or notice it on my registration) until the cop told me that was why he pulled me over, search me, asked me four times "is this you car?", slapped cuff on me, brought out the drug dog, & shoved me in the back of his squad car.

after it was all said and done he gave me a very polite," ...have a nice day sir. and keep out of trouble"

I can understand why he did that. Even better was that after he realized a mistake had been made, he did not try to find something else to bust you on so he would not look silly.

Reiflex...

sounds like they should have taken the drug dog down to the DMV offices..

reminds me of when i took my 90 Celica AllTrac turbo in for some service and was politely informed that i must be mistaken, i cant possibly own an Toyota all trac that wasnt a Previa van...the flip side is when they finally figured out what kinda toyota i had...it was always the "special parts" we had to order from Japan ouch

WRC666 - Me too. But the Subaru dealer had me on their paperwork as an OBS instead of RS... I pointed my finger and told them they were wrong.

I don't know about anywhere else but I've heard that Chicago area DMV there are cons doing the registrations and titles, not to mention license plates.

HAHAHAHAH! These are all hilarious!

I just realized a 96 red L wagon I checked out a couple weeks ago was registered as an Outback Sport... Go figure!

Question New Car, according to Geico, 2001 Subaru Impraza A 6.8 Quarto

I did an online rate quote from Geico. I entered the VIN of a 2001 RS Coupe and an email came back with the info. It doesn't look computer generated, b/c their are typos.

But look what they said:

if you were to replace your 1990 Ford Mustang LX with a 2001 Subaru Impraza A 6.8 Quarto . . .

and

I would like to make you aware of the advantages of our Rental Reimbursement coverage and Mechanical Breakdown Insurance for your 2001 Audi.

What's up with that?
