Post WRX woes

hello all,

i guess i'm just thinking out loud here...

I've been waiting forever for the WRX, now that its here i can't really afford it!!
i just got married and i'm having a baby in august so my prioritys have changed. this is great but on the other hand it sucks because i reallyreally wanted to buy this car. i always thought the 2.5rs was sweet, it just needs more power(turbo). the only thing i could afford is a used 2.5 sedan, which is a great car, but i'm just not sure i can handle driving one down the eway getting burned by awesome WRXers. i know this is sounds whiny, i guess i'm looking for support, tell me that buying a used 2.5rs will still be sweet...even though ill always want a WRX. i know i could mod it with a turbo, but i just dont see that happening with the costs of a newborn.
thanks for reading...

Do like I do tell yourself that waiting for the STI will be worth it. That is what I'm doing. I could buy a wrx now but it is not the right time for my family. I will get a Impreza in two years hopefully if not an full STI maybe an RB5 type special.

Also having kids is alot of fun. It is the hardest job you'll ever love. Sounds like you have you priorities straight.

I'm in the same boat- I'd love to get the WRX, but I don't want to shell out $5000 to $7000 more for a car I'm going to put 80 miles a day on.

My car has to be reliable, and I have had a bad time with Audi's turbos.

A used RS with some engine mods, cams, intake, exhaust, can get you close to 200hp. That'll get you really close to the hp/weight ratio of the new WRX.

SO that car is faster... at least your's isn't as ugly.

On a different note why wait for an STi... get a cobb tuned WRX... oh yeah they will be coming.

Buy a used sedan. You won't the hit that you would with a new car. Wait 2 years and but the Sti that should be here by then. I have a 2000 that I am keeping and I am getting a 2002. My 00 is VERY fun.

Lightbulb

Get a 4 or 5 year lease with zero down.
OTOH, a used RS would be a good too.
