Post Kevin I Have Another Question???

When you flip the switch do u switch it before u launch or after u launch. When is a good time to activate the nitrous, and have u ever accidently hit the stock rev limiter?

The switch is already engaged even before I launch. Once I floor the gas pedal, it releases the Nos into the intake. That is a big no-no and is not recommended. This is how trannys and drivetrain parts break prematurely. Nos recommends not engaging the Nos until after 3000rpm. I have a few nuts and bolts loose so I do looney things.

Actually, I engage it early because it allows me to get a ridiculous jump on whomever I am racing. It also brought my 1/4 mile times down from 15.1 to 13.85. Yes, engaging the Nos off the line made THAT much of a difference. I still don't recommend it. I wouldn't do it.

Have u ever accidently hit the stock rev limiter?

Yes I have but I need to explain why. First off I drive an automatic. So normally I wouldn't hit the rev limiter and I never have when I drive in 'drive'. I hit the rev limiter twice when I was manually switching (1-2-3-Drive). I shifted the gears a little to late and the needle hit the limiter hard. It was scary. Fortunately nothing has been damaged in the engine that I know of. So yes, I have hit the rev limiter twice with the Nos engaged and my engine didn't blow up. No, I have never hit the rev limiter when I leave my foot on the gas pedal (with the Nos engaged) as the car is switching gears.

Kevin, with every post I read of yours, I'm convinced that you are going to die in that car. I actually wince and change lanes when I see OBS's on the road now!

Charge,

You are scaring me dude. Now you got me thinking before I go out to pick my son up. Hehe!

I have the stage I kit and normally I run at 15.89-16.1 depending on the temperature outside. I run around 15.1-15.3 on Nos when I hit the switch after 3000rpm. A 2.5RS with a Stage I or II with Nos......now that's scary. I don't think you'd have to worry about any WRX's or whatever for a while on the street in that monster. Faraz for prez.
