Buy a Subaru Sorry, had to say it. I have to agree, it sounds like a battery or starter problem. Lots of places will check that stuff out for free. That way they can find a problem and get you to buy their stuff! Hope you get it figured out soon.

Post Help Please!

Hey guys i need your help with my other car. Its a 89 honda accord LXi. Anyways its having trouble starting and i thought it may be the alarm becuase the alarm is connected to the started and everytime i try to start it the main alarm unit just makes a clicking noise. But today i push started it (you know dumping the clutch while the car is being pushed). Now that this happened what do you think. Starter or what? Thanks in advance.

You can try several things.
1. check your battery including the fluids. if low use DISTILLED water only!

2. check your connections. I won't tell you the story I went through over a broken .75 connector that was sometimes touching the starter and sometimes not. Not to mention what it did to my friends car.

3. Water or moisture in teh distributor will kill ya everytime.

4. A sure way to narrow it to the starter is to have some one try to crank it over and you tap the starter with a steel bar. If it starts then, your brushs are bad and you probably need a new starter.

5. But due to what you describe, I want to say it is the battery. While in the military, we used Ford Broncos for a lot of our security patrols. troops would sit and listen to the radio for a few hours and then go to start the truck to do a patrol. All you would hear was a rapid clicking sound. After a jump (sometimes a lengthy one, depending on battery condition) it would eventually start.
A better place to post this would also be clubsi. Only because they know honda's better than we, (of course to some that is debateable...)

Good luck, and I hope this helped.

BTW Most wal-Marts will test and re-charge a battery for free, even if it not a brand they sell or service. They have attitude sometimes but will do it.

And if you are feeling lucky, buy some starter fluid and spray it directly into the carb, and quickly run inside the car and try to start it. I had to do that with my jeep for months. But keep in mind If you use too much starter fluid, it will cause a small to medium explosion. this happened to me several times. It even caught fire once.
NEVER buy a chrysler.
