Post for those who commented on my car...

just in case you didn't read it in its original thread... here's my response.

well... yes it is my car... and yes i like it... now thanks to those who like my car... and here's some responses to those who disapprove.

first off... the color of the car is...

-dupont ice blue with blue pearl and silver mini-flakes... it looks baby blue in the day, and white at night... you see the pearl and flakes at all times...

-suspension is ground control kyb/agx shocks... 7" spring 350/300... capable of 1-4" drop... it is at its height right now so that i don't kill the shocks

-no wing? well its because i'm looking into an aluminum double deck wing with the stabilizing shocks that attach to the trunk and i figured i'd fill in the holes instead of leaving them open

-banners... the top one is my crew... and the bottom one will win me money if i get pictured in a magazine... check out www.speedoptions.com, i don't see how that is too much vinyl...

-my front lip... come on! i've seen other members with the GReddy lip and they get all the praises... and what? i get all the flames?

-interior... i just got my car out of the shop last week... my plans for that is to make it all white including carpets and headliner... the only reason for the blue was because my car was RBP before...

-black sunroof? ummm... NO!

-tires... well, when you spend a good amount of money on a turbo kit, 3" cat-back exhaust, ACT clutch, and electronics... its a little hard to come up with just a little more for rims and tires. but i do plan on getting some, and yes white... but i'm not sure yet. but i will be going with something from the DAZZ lineup... 17", maybe 18s... with a 45 series tire. and for those who want to know, i'm test fitting 19" racing hart t6's on my car for the upcoming moroso show... and on top of that, i pay for all my parts in cash... no credit card here... if i had a credit card, trust me... it would be hard to tell that i drive a subaru!

for your information, my car is strictly for show... yes i will run it in the 1/4 mile one time... and i may even run it in an autox... if i'm allowed... the addition of the turbo kit for my car is so that i can say...

ALL SHOW.. and GO!

its my car... i love it... enjoy it!

see some of you at moroso! peace...

Sanders,
Hey as a fellow Floridian I wanted to extend a little support. Everyone on this board has a different Idea of what their car should look like. I've got all the STi stickers on my car and Hell Yeah it's not a WRX STi, but I can't get one... And With My Flame Suit on I have riden in one and Driven a real wrx. SO

If anyone should say anything bad about other peoples Subies on this board it should be because they are jerks. Not what their car looks like. You have been without a doubt one of the most helpful and friendly People on this board with the Folks in Florida. You've always been willing to help with meets and to that I tip my hat to you. Thanks...

Anyone who wants to point a finger needs to step back and look in a mirror. Cause if you ain't perfect I suggest you just sit back and chill out. Cause in this world if you ain't making it better your making it worse and a cars color doesn't change the world its the attitudes of the owner.

So in my mind Your Car is AWESOME!!!! Based on the driver and what you've done for us in Florida...

Just my two cents

Later
Eric.

wrxwannabe - I second that entire statement, Sanders is one of the nicest people I have met, he's always organizing events and participating in our meets. Plus he has 2 RS's, the coupe everyone saw in the pictures and a 2001 Sedan.

See y'all at Moroso!

I, um, third that entire statement. I also agree that sanders is very helpful and one of the nicest people on this club. He is a good example of the true Subie brotherhood and his car looks awesome.

I think you need better pics of your car. It's hard to judge it based on some crappy nighttime photos. I'm sure the paint job is more imprezive during the day. I think its really wierd about the lip too.

Hello,
The original thread asked for what the ppl thinks. So that it was it got. Surely no one's gonna share the same opinion right? And no I've sen Sander's posts and tho I've not met him, thru his posts, he seemed helpful and a pleasant person. The thoughts on the car should not reflect the person.

Sanders, hang in there, you only have to please yourself. That's what self expression is all about. Drivinfg a 'work in progress' only inites the 'why those wheels on that car' type of comment. Post some pics when its complete or in its next phase.
For what it's worth, I like it, even though I'd probably strip the lip off in a week the way I drive.

I want to agree with all my other Fellow Floridians. Your ride is bad, and it's you, so just do your thing. Everyone who lives in FL with me will agree:
AT LEAST IT AIN'T ANOTHER HONDA. You're being different. Thats cool by me.

Sanders,
Don't worry about other people.
It is your car!
You modify it the way you like.
I got blue inerior in my Blue RS. Some people like it, others don't.
I love it.

Just do whatever you like to do.

Nice car sanders! Looks like some high quality craftsmanship.

I think your car is off the hook. Who cares what everyone else thinks, we all have different tastes. I espically like the white grill. Could use rims but I think it looks good the way it is....

I'm with GAMBIT on this one, my dude.

You must not get so terribly defensive when someone(not sure of original poster) asks for an opinion of your ride. Now if they had asked, "Who all loves this ride... please post" then you'd have reason to defend your pride, but that person didn't.

The only thing I don't like about it is the lip, which I personally find "overdone", but not ugly. I strongly feel the RS has a perfect front fascia in OEM form, so I verbalized it - as requested. The analogy I used just speaks of my weird mental state, which I wouldn't care if people criticize... because that's just me - to each his own.

Did you customize your ride for OTHERS or did you do it for YOURSELF? I would hope you did it for yourself and if so... get over it(the critique)! What matters is whether YOU like it! You're not in high school anymore... I hope.

I like a lot. Too much for me but it still very cool. I'll bet it looks awesome in the daytime. From the boards he seems really cool. My two totally meaningless cents:
1. Anthracite wheels
2. Conservative spoiler, STI VI if any.

yea, I dig the car, but I was a little shaky on your spoiler choice. I'd say go with the 22b CF wing. Also, I don't dig baby blue colors.

otherwise, sweet ride, good job

Nice car. I will probably get flamed here, but why did someone say you can't race the car because of the front lip? Rally no. Road race I would think you still could. Just asking. Post some pic's when you get the wheels.

Sanders, there is no reason to feel you have to justify your decisions to anyone else. Your car is one of a kind, and that alone makes it cool in my book. Of course, if you ask for others' opinions, then be prepared to get 'em from both sides of the fence.

Keep drivin'

5252,

I take it that you broke-down and joined the Dark Side... truly evil ride. Like Vadar's early 20's ride before he got his Impala SS.
