Question Need clothes. (kinda long)

I am going to performance driving school for two days in October. Sponsored by BMW CCA. Now, they already tried to keep me out once, claiming the Outback is an SUV. Yeesh; well it also rained that day, and those novice hot shots in M3s were doing donuts all over the place. NEway, BMW drivers being who they are, they show up to these things in BMW hats, BMW jackets, BMW t-shirts, BMW underwear, prolly.

And now it will be 24 BMWs. And one Scoob.

I NEED SCOOBY CLOTHES. I got a hat, but some kind of cool T-shirt or other shirt would be great. I missed the group buy a while back because I was too busy to keep up with the insane amount of posts here. ANY IDEAS?

FWIW, I went to Rallispec this week. Yow, what a cool place. Tiny tiny little garage, stuffed with: 5 cat-back exhausts under construction all over the floor; 1 blown up Celica GT all-trac rally car; 1 blown up dodge colt hatch about to get a 220-or-something-horsepower turbo motor; one COMPLETE STi Ver. V engine with tranny, half shafts, fuse boxes and wiring (sorry, already sold!). Not even enough head room for a lift; lots of jacks. I grabbed a Whiteline 18-22mm swaybar for the Outback and had Andy put it on. He was a hoot. recognized the sound of a Phase I engine without snorkus. Got under the OB and exclaimed, "Hey, mud! I bet this car is so happy. 'I got a GOOD owner, not a soccer mom!'"

No, I figure I will chew these dogmeat stock Michelin minivan tires learning this stuff, then Plus Zero to a 215/65/15 in the Spring. No other mods, except for a snorkus-echtomy. The budget is small, because the car payment is large

For clothes, you can contact Riot Squad off this board about t-shirts. They've got "Subaru Racing" on the front and an awesome graphic of the #3 car (I think) on the back. He's selling them cheap, too!

As for RalliSpec, that place rocks!! I went there when I was helping out my sister. She lives only about a mile from them! How convenient is that? Anyway, they showed me the blown Celica. Hehe, did you see the remains of the block they had outside?

All I can say is that as soon as I figure out which direction I want to go with my car, RalliSpec is going ot be seeing a lot more of me. Best of luck getting that extra head room, guys!

that SWRT race gear looks NOTHING like the "official" stuff... and this stuff seems as if it would be less expensive too...

Cool

OK, this is the REAL cheapo way out, but I just bought a jacket patch from my local dealer for $1.46. Next stop - Wal-Mart for a dark blue jacket - I'm figuring about $25. The patch would also work on a hat.

I almost had a heart attack when I saw the RaceBreed prices!

Ooh, ooh, the Mike Smiths post consecutively. Lucien, already posted this on Edmunds but for the others, here're links to the shirts Subie Gal and I have: Coventry City Football Club jersey emblazoned with SUBARU, though it's 39.99 (58.43 USD) . Jamie and I got last year's model, which is solid light blue.

Performance-clothing? Hmmmmm... sounds like a rice-bred company. Remember kids, as long as you're wearing a yellow shirt, you too can keep up with Richard Burns.

Oh and Jamie, thanks for the Performance Clothing URL. They have some specials of which I took advantage; now I'm now 32.95 (47.42 USD) + shipping poorer.

..Mike

[edit: Ok, I saw that Jamie! Editing prior posts with even more imgs to embarrass me further just isn't warranted! So is the Performance stuff "official"?]

Of course I realize that the real stuff looks a LOT better than the do-it-yourself variety, but hey, I've got two teenage girls, a mortgage, and a Subie payment.

Subie Gal - NOT FAIR!! The stuff already looks good, but when you're wearing it -

(sorry I don't have all the cool smilies you have, Jamie)

WOW!

Thanks for the response!! It will be hard to resist the performance clothing stuff. Also it looks like Darlene at QSubaru is going to spiff me something, to ensure we're properly represented .

Can't go crazy, because it WOULD be lame to show up all decked out. Better just to have one kinda cool thing, and let the driving do the talking....assuming I conduct myself well, that is . Only my second time, and my FIRST time on the large (fast) full-on Summit Point track (as opposed to the jefferson circuit)

p.s. pray for rain
