Default Where is the drain plug for the front differential for MY98 Outback and MY00 RS?

Hello all,

Just like to know where is the front differential drain plug for MY98 Legacy Outback and MY00 2.5 RS?

I can find the dip stick for the front differential buy cannot find the drain plug for changing the front differential gear oil.

The dipstick you found is not just for the front diff, but for the tranny as well. The drain plug will be somewhere on the tranny.

You mean there are two dip sticks?

One for the front differential?

one for the AT transmission?

and only the AT trans oil drain plug and drain the front differential also?

should be a STAR HEX pattern bolt at in front of the black pan but before the Bell housing portion of the tranny. That is the diff.
