Post Rocky Mount, NC autocross tips

Is anyone else here going to be at the autocross in Rocky Mount NC this weekend? This will be my first autocross ever and I could use some advice. I have an 18mm sway bar and RE92s on a '99 RS.

Thanks,
Jeremy

It's all about being smooth. You'll need to increase your tyre pressures to help keep tyre roll in check. Maybe someone that has run RE92s can give you a starting point; but probably 40/F 37/R would work as a starting point.

Greg, I'll see you there dude! I already do hat the stock tires, but I'm waiting till they wear out to replace them with better ones. These things last forever...got over 30,000 miles on them so far.

uktena, thanks for the tire pressure advice. I will start with 40/37 PSI. I'll try to be smooth, hehehe...Kinda worried I'll make a fool of myself, but I think it'll be OK.

Thanks!

Hey guys,

I think there's an autox in Charlotte AND Rocky Mount this weekend.

I'm in the middle (Raleigh) and am debating which one to go to. In Charlotte, there'd be 5-6 Subes, but in Rocky Mount, it'd be closer and I'd still see 2-3.

Bob J, There's an autocross at Knights Stadium in Charlotte this weekend. Two day event!! Saturday is a Skillz Day (fun day) and Sunday is a regular autocross. Memebers pay $10 on Sat and $15 on Sun. Non-Members pay $20 for each day. If your not a member and you're uder 25 you can sould be able to join SCCA under the speed freekz program for $25. So you would only pay $10 more to run both days and you would be a member. Members save $3-$5 at all SCCA autocrosses and you get a subscription to Sports Car. Not a sales pitch! Just wanted to give you the info. I'd love to see another Subaru there!
Actually I'd love to see another 50 Subaru's there! Check out this site for info: www.ccrsolo2.com Hope to see you there!

If you all see the Team Underdog guys down there, tell them I said 'whats up'. They are all very cool guys. Have fun and dont over drive it. Its far better to waist a tenth going in then several coming out.

Here's the scoop on the autocross at Knights Stadium: Saturday is a Skillz Day, Lots of runs, Lots of fun, Lots of time to hone up on your driving. Sunday will be a normal autocross. Registration will start at 8:00 and will go until 9:30. Tech Starts at 8:30 and will go until 10:00. Drivers meeting is at 10:45 and first car off is right after meeting. The schedule is the same for both days. I was misinformed about the price of saturday, however if you already saw the price I posted find me at the event and I will take care of it. I'll probably be in the timming van in the morning. That said, the cost is $15 for each day for members and $20 each day for non-members. Once again if you have any other questions visit www.ccrsolo2.com Hope to see you there!
