Default Any headers fit BE/BH legacy?

The other day I ran over a piece of rebar that fell off a contractors truck on the highway.

There was a car to my right and one to my left so I couldn't avoid it.

It made a pretty loud smack when it went under the car and after a thorough inspection I discovered it cracked my Y-collector.

Since I'm over 60K and Subaru wants $260 for a OEM pipe I'm looking into just throwing a header on.

Is there one out there and are there CEL issues?

Thanks in advance everyone,

lee

ok...did a search and found some options. Now I'm left with one question aimed at those of you with headers.

Is it pointless to install headers if I'm keeping everything stock from the headers back?

Borla makes a header, there are going to be some coming from Techworks but not yet. As for the ones from Borla, if you are keeping everything stock from there back, don't bother. It's a waste of money, sound barely increases and no noticeable performance gains.

I have a Borla header on my BE Legacy. It does not give any CEL. It does change the tone of engine though.

BTW, it's actually for sale as well.

I believe the brullens are a equal length setup (or near) and will not fit with a stock exhaust, I think you would need the rest of the brullen setup...

to stock is a project too

for the price of the brullen headers and the fact that you are only going to be replacing the headers and nothing else, its not worth it at all. if you were doing a whole header back exhaust that would be one thing but not to just replace a factory header without any performance gains in mind, i think the brullen headers are like 3 times as much as the factory replacement, but dont quote me on that.

If i was in your shoes.. I would just get borla.. who know maybe in a future you will decide to get full catback done.. and you won't have to reinvest into headers.. and you can get them for like $280 or so..
