Default Smallest wheels that a 98 legacy gt can accept?

I'm looking at getting winter tires soon, and notice how much cheaper 15 inch rims are, how much smaller can my car accept before they won't fit? I'm probably just going to buy the steelies off of tirerack, looking at blizzack set for 485.

I've got 15" steelies that I run snow tires with on mine. They're from an Impreza, and work just fine. I don't know whether or not 14's will fit. The L models came with 14" wheels, but they also had a smaller front rotor, so clearance might be an issue on the GT's.

It'll definately take 15" wheels, so long as the offset is good. My car had some old 15" steelies on it when I first bought it.

I gave them away I just personally can't stand steel wheels & hubcaps. Had 'em on my old Nissan; I treated the Leg to something prettier. Plus, the steelies are pretty heavy.

Go to tirerack http://www.tirerack.com/snow/SnowWhe...ow=threeWheels

1998 Legacy GT comes with 205/55/16, with their steel wheel/snow tire package for 15" tires they recommend using a 15x6 wheel and 205/60/15 snow tires with a QR rating.

Don't even consider doing a 14 inch wheel, there probably never was one designed for the car!

Good Luck!

Thanks for the tips...your session on tirerack timed out, and the 15 inch tires I've found are all only 195's

Tirerack sold me a set of Outback 15 in alloys with 195/65-15s for winter when I got my 98 GT!
