Exclamation JUN Camshaft Group Buy

About Us:
We are a tuner/parts dealer specializing in the Subaru market. We are an authorized distributor for JUN Auto, as well as many other brands.

The Product:
We are offering the JUN Stage 2 Camshaft kits for $1625. The Stage 2 kit includes 4 camshafts, repacement valve springs and titanium retainers.
We can also offer a camshaft set (4 cams) alone for $1190.

The camshafts are available in 256, 264 and 272 durations. While the 256 duration will drop in to a EJ205 head, the 264 and 272 durations will require replacement valve springs and conversion to a shim-under bucket.

More information can be found at http://www.junauto.co.jp

Pictures of the 272 cams, springs, and retainers will be up in the next day or two. We will be using these cams in our 2.5L project car.

Terms:
For the pricing above, we will require a commitment for 5 sets. A
deposit of 20% would be required when we place our order with JUN, the balance due when we ship to you. Estimated delivery time of 2-4 weeks from closing the group buy. Payment accepted via Visa/MC/Discover or check.

Please post if you're interested, or contact via the email below.

Thanks,
Steve Mock

On the hp topic... We haven't done any dyno tests with these cams, so I honestly couldn't give you a horsepower number. I couldn't even make a semi-accurate guess at this point.

I do have a pic of the cams..

I will have a pic of the stage 2 package soon (have to clean the pics up)

I've tried to search for some numbers, and have come up empty handed. I asked JUN when we placed the order for our cams, and they had not done any preliminary testing with a USDM wrx to be able to give me any numbers.

Unfortunately, when our cams go in our car, it will be highly modified and will no longer be a good basis for comparison.

I will keep searching and keep my eye out for any reported power gains, but everything I have seen thus far has been with built motors...

Puckaveli,

These cams are the same price as our other JUN cams.... 1275 outside the group buy, and 1190 with the group buy.

If anyone wants any other JUN parts, we can get those as well. Just let us know.

What all is involved with doing a conversion to a shim-under bucket?

Having never actually converted to shim-under design myself, I couldn't give you the complete details.

We are actually planning on something a little different for out conversion. I don't want to give away too many of the details, but once our conversion is complete we will provide you with the full specs.

Im a n00b with this stuff....If I got a stage 2 (265) kit...What exsactly would that do for the car ? rev out higher ? what ? Explain...I heard once hks had cams installed on a JDM sti -- fairly stock -- and made something like 60whp with the cams...any 1 else hear this...if thats the case this could be a very big bang for the buck...so explain what would happen if I choose that setup I mentioned...I basically have a stage 4 car now...

Okay, let me see if i can clarify some stuff.

The stage 2 kit contains 4 cams (2 intake, 2 exh) springs, and titanium retainers.

The springs and retainers will allow you to rev the motor higher, given you have supporting items to go along with it....

Since the cams are high-lift long duration, this will allow more air to get into the motor. Obviously more air requires more fuel as well so you will need to make sure your engine management system can compensate for the changes.

Given the fact that these motors are starved for air up top, these cams will greatly help out with this.

You should also mention that power band rpms will shift a bit higher also... As usaul...you give up on the lower end to gain up top.

Unfortunately, we did not get enough interest for this group buy.

Please contact us at sales@msmracing.com if you are interested in any JUN parts, and we will provide a competitive quote.

We're also working on a complete head package, and should have something to announce shortly.

what kinda price woudl cams cost to install? and given they already have the motor pulled apart probably best to do it all at once?

Once I get into engine internals my mech knowledge it nil.

Honestly, I couldn't give you a solid number to quote off of. There are too many variables to consider (shim under bucket, shimless buckets, number of buckets needed, type of heads going into, need for new sprockets.. etc). You're really better off taking your heads to a head shop and getting a quote from them.

The 256 cams can be used with out upgraded springs and retainers so they would just need to be installed so if the heads are already of the motor the charge should be minimal.

This the left hand side head off of a STi VII RA Spec C engine, with the
cover, camshafts and buckets removed. The cams need to be removed to get
the heads off of the block. (Head bolts are blue.)

You could have your shop drop in the 256 duration cams when they
reassemble your engine. You could also install shimless buckets at the
same time as a reliability modification. They are now stock on the 04 WRX
and STi.

New buckets, springs, and retainers in addition to allowing for the larger
cams will also enable you to have a higher redline.
