Default Blown Motor Pics

Clutch at just under 19K. Started off with Stg4 since 3K miles.

Connecting Rod going through the block.

Closer look at the connecting rod.

Engine pulled out

Anyone know what this sensor it? When the connecting rod blew out, it damaged this sensor.

I see them.

Looks like similar to east coast scooby's motor.

Rod through the block is nasty.

Coolant temp sensor

Thanks!

Oh, how is the 2.4L engine treating you? I am either going with that or a V7 motor. Opinions? Thoughts?

Well, I think that the motor took enough of a beating and just took a crap on me.

The tuning was conservative and my A/F's were a bit on the rich side (based on the w/b reading when I was on the dyno). My EGT's never went above 800C on any of my 1-2-3-4 gear runs.

The engine has been through hell since I first got the car. Something had to give and it happened to be the connecting rod.

Can you explain more into detail what your mods were, drivinbg style (although that should be obvious from the look of your clutch ),WHP, etc?

I've seen the STI blocks selling for $1500 new. And you just missed a brand new EJ22T block on EBAY it went for $900.
Well take it easy, Micah

My mods are FMIC, ECUTek, T3/T04E 50 trim, 785cc injectors, and the usualy supporting mods.

I was boosting at 21psi. I only use 100 octane.

The car sees the track a few times a month (usually 2-4 times a month). I usually drive normal but get on it when i hit the on-ramps. I do some highway pulls every now and then.

I was laying down 330awhp and 308lbs. I was going to get tuned by Shiv in hopes of higher numbers but I never got to make it that far.

Jorge, you may have some stiff competition. If you saw what I saw inside of my block through the removed oil pan We can do a collective sticky thread on blown block pictures, hehe.

As for need4boost, you can pick up a v7 JDM sti long block from Gruppe-s for a great deal. Call in and talk to max since the website does not reflect the pricing I'm talking about

Also, if you want to do a 2.5 sti block get on the phone ASAP and start calling around. Schaumberg Subaru in IL seemed to be the best price I could find. I believe it was $1500 or so shipped and with the complete OE gasket set. This set has EVERY single gasket used on our motors. Trick setup. There was a dealer in CO that had some but he wanted 1400 just for the block Then again, I say call around because last I heard they were on back order. Schaumberg did have some enroute though.

You have a PM about that sensor

Numbers to have handy are:

Subaru of Schaumberg, ask for Craig in parts:
847-884-6000

Performance Race Engineering out of Portland.
Cometic gasket, race gasket for 2.5 sti block
503-619-0055, ask for Jason
$78.92 each
2mm thick
