Lots of people have installed these with no problems. As long as the wiring is done properly you won't screw anything up with the electrical system. In fact there are some vendors selling "plug and play" harnesses for these lights so you don't have to cut any of the factory wiring to install them.
The only issue with the JDMs is a non-electrical one. They produce a RHD beam pattern which is incorrect for driving in the US, because the beam is aimed up toward the left side which means into oncoming traffic. However if you want this look with the correct beam pattern you can get a set of the EDM (European market) lights which are basically the same but with the proper LHD beam pattern. You don't specify your location but if you're in the Tri-State area there is a set currently for sale in this thread-

ok thanx...well this guy will probably sell them before i get the money...so do you or anyone know of a website that sells EDMs? And is the lights pointing into oncoming traffic illegal or does it obstruct the drivers view? What kind of angle are they positioned at? Is it worth spending hte extra money on EDMs for just the angle correction?

CC-B and SubyDude are two vendors that have recently had EDM lights in stock, you can try them first. If they're currently out you might have to wait a bit for the next shipment.
The patterns of the JDMs and EDMs are both E-code but opposites of each other for driving on opposite sides of the road. They look something like this-

LHD, correct for US- __/ __/

RHD, bad for US- \__ \__

As you can see the RHD pattern shines up to the left and will be a distraction for oncoming traffic. Technically none of the aftermarket or non-US OEM lights are DOT legal to put on your car, but you're certainly more likely to get noticed by the authorities and possibly stopped and ticketed if your lights are aimed into people's eyes.
I'll also add that some people have successfully taken the JDM lights apart, and modified the internal baffle plates to eliminate the rising part of the beam so they are then neither LHD or RHD. There are threads describing the procedure, if you search (look for old posts) you can find them both here and on i-club. However to do this you have to be willing to take a risk with your $800 lights.
