Default ** Local Map Based Rally This Sat Oct 11 **

Sorry for the late notice but this should be a really fun event and I hope some of you will join me!

When: THIS SATURDAY - OCTOBER 11

Start Location: Rector Porsche, 1010 Cadillac Way, Burlingame, CA 94101

Registration: 3pm (first car out at 4.01pm)

Cost: $20 per car you will need a navigator

Info: http://www.therallyeclub.org/upcoming.htm (Moonlight Monte Carlo 2003)

This map-based rally will be very similar to the drives I have done with many of you in Marin & Sonoma, where you have had to figure out your own route by looking at a map. It is also like the rallye that Pete Soper did with some of you last year.

In a nutshell, you will be given a set of maps and some instructions (clues). You will need to get from Point A to Point B using a route of your choice and at whatever speed you choose to drive !! At Point B you will be given further clues as to where Point C is located here is the tricky part you will be timed at Point C and it may be just down the road BUT look carefully at the instructions to see what DIRECTION the rallymaster wants you to ENTER Point C. You are allowed to CREEP (tires just moving) when you get close to Point C so that you can cross the line at exactly the correct second and get a perfect score of zero!

How long will the event run? Where will it end? I've been wanting to do a road rally for a looonnnnggg time, and would love to try it out this weekend.

I believe it will be about 5 hours. Starts in daylight and finishes in the dark - so a good idea to bring a reading light. for more information try phoning Hubert Lee at 650-368-5258. He is the rallymaster for this event.

Okay, just spoke to the rallymaster ... rally is about 5 - 5 1/2 hours, about 120 miles and finishes in Redwood City.

Hope to see you out there!

Jane
