Exclamation Request for compression test info and a group of guys who are willing to help figure

...help figure out whats going on with my car.

Ok, first things first. I want to get a comrpession test done. What is this, who can do it, and how much will it cost?

Second, I want to get a group of guys together to view/discuss/and help figure out what is going on with my car. I'm willing to drive a good distance to do this. Maybe we can have an install fest and while some people are installing, some are checking out the car...but either way i would BIG TIME appreciate this.

Well, I plan to Turbo my RS in the near future so I figure it would be best to get the TURBO Karhma gods on my side, so Im game.

I will help if we can get a few people with more experience to show. I know my brother has a compression tester kit, but I'm not sure if its adapters fit our cars. Used on a VW Jetta race car, but if I remeber correctly it has oodles of adaptors. Too be honest I dont think your problem is internal. I hope we would see perfect compression so you can stop worrying about going down that road at least.

Andrew,

I'm willin to help out. The more time I get on a Turbo system the more I can learn.

Best thing now is for you to get the compression check done so that you can confirm that your engine is OK, and piece of mind.

After that we all can start brainstorming about where the oil is entering your system (still think it is the seal behind the compressor impeller) but I think it is best to check EVERYTHING. Also, what would be good now is to have your engine bay "Steam cleaned" or at least pressure washed to clean all the oil out of the bay. I believe from the pictures you posted that the entire engine comartment is covered, and cleaning it will help us find the leak.

Let me know when you want everyone to meet.

Cheers

How about this Saturday's Install Fest?

For the comp test, if you don't want to drive up to San Rafael, you can go to Greenslip in Sunnyvale. (check Yahoo yellow pages for the addy) I had mine done there -- 100/100/100/96% after 4 years on my GC8!

Talking

ARG Bad post regulator thing, made me lose my post because i posted in another thread less tha 60 seconds ago

Anyways, summation of what I had typed up was:

Thanks for all the help guys. I dont know where I'd be without your help (probably S.O.L. and smoking up San Jose)

Im broke so I cant go around to shops tyring to get a comp test done.

I am very willing to travel to Alex's house.

I would really appreciate if you guys could make the trip as well, the more the better.

I'm unaware of an install fest this Saturday Joe, is it at Alex's house?

I am free all week long since I am currently unemployed . So lets try to get whatever day works out best to get the most people to show up.

Again, thanks guys.

I believe the Install fest is at Randy's (Ravent), plus Sat is the Bozz thing. Maybe Sunday would be best for the rest of you. Of course Alex it the one to decide, it's his house.

Unfortuately I'm going to be up in Forestville for the weekend (no way out of this) so I won't be in the area.

Andrew, Whatever you decide, I can be available on the weekdays as well (got a flexable job)

Cheers
